I've got one foot on the raw wagon and one foot off - I'm doing my best. I'm drinking 3 quarts of green smoothies a day in an effort to leave as little room as possible for my cooked addictions. This week I felt my body trying to toss out as much gunk as possible in every way. My lymph nodes became swollen. That's never happened before. I wasn't sick - no sinus issues, etc. I've felt this problem more subtley in the past when I'm raw and have dairy but this week it was every day for 7 days. They were swollen! Hard to swallow, painful, sensitive to the touch.

All this is no big surprise - that's not why I'm posting. I'd like to know if there are particular raw foods or cleanses that I might benefit from. In my totally cooked days, my lymph glands became swollen under stress. Now, I only notice it when give in to my addictions and consume dairy.

Oddly enough, it hasn't been possible for me to drink my smoothies for the last day and a half and the swelling is gone.

The lymph system is new territory for me to learn about so I thought I'd ask around and see what ya'll know:)

elfinbaby,

All I can tell you is my own experience. I used to eat all kinds of junk food: potato chips, chocolate, cinnamon rolls, nacho chips etc. My lymph nodes were sore quite a bit under my arm pits and also I would get pain just below my ear on the right and left. It would come and go. I've been raw for over 3 weeks and I have no more pain at all. It went away within the first 6 days for me. I occasionally get a slight pain for a couple seconds under my right ear but I think that is still detox happening. Other than that I'm fine. I'm now about 99% raw.

What I would suggest is go to health food store and ask if they have any natural tinctures that would help ease it. The cure for me though was raw.

There's no doubt that the cure is raw. Raw is the cure for so many things:) I was just thinking that if my body is this sensitive that maybe my lymphatic system is blocked up and could use a cleanse. I'd like to try doing a lymphatic cleanse - but am not familiar with them - or try consuming particular raw foods that are known to help cleanse the lymph glands - but I'm not familiar with those either.

Thanks,
April
