This recipe is in Alissa's book and it is awesome! I love it! Sue got me to try it and I'm glad I did. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and it still looks like a ton of food.

Hi,
I DO plan to get Alissa's book -- looks aweseome! -- but am wondering if anyone would feel all right about emailing me the Black Forest Cake recipe? My brother (who is 45 years old and has a heart condition -- heart fibrillation -- that took him to the emergency room just months ago) thinks of Black Forest Cake as his favorite for his birthdays, and his girlfriend just MIGHT fix him the raw version if I can send her the recipe. (My bro was actually a raw foodist back in the '80s.) Thing is, his birthday is this Saturday (April 9th) so I don't have much time to get the recipe to her. If no one responds that's okay, but I at least had to try. I had promised her to send a recipe for black forest cake so she could make it for him, and I did, but my heart sank to look at all the death-ful ingredients, white sugar, whipping cream and all...!!!! I feel that is a really good chance she would make him the raw version instead if only I could get the recipe to her.
Okay, end of sob story. Just had to try!!
I found this website Googling and trying to find a raw recipe for Black Forest Cake. Glad to find this website, looks super nice!
Cheers,
Michele
P.S. I don't know how to make a signature on here yet, but just wanted to invite anyone interested to look at my Raw Blog sometime at www.curezone.com. Some people have written to tell me they find it helpful (especially for people who have a lot of weight to lose I guess). The name of my blog is "Raw Harmony, Raw Success, Raw Weight Loss" and you can find it there by looking under "R" in the blog listings -- or just look in the Top 10 under the "Top 50 Blogs." (Blows me away that it's in the Top 10. I didn't even know anyone there when I started my blog there. Actually I still don't know anyone there but one. Just shows how popular raw food diet is becoming!!)

My bro was SO healthy when he was raw. He used to work at the Optimum Health Institute in San Diego back in the early '80s. Now he has gained about 200 lbs. and has heart problems and really needs to get inspired to go raw again! It is so sad how "normal society" acts like eating something like conventional Black Forest Cake is so wonderful.
I will have to get some cocao nibs and grind them to a powder and use in Alissa's recipe one of these days. ;) I wonder what one could add to a raw cake to give it that really deep chocolate COLOR without using roasted cocao? Anyone have any ideas?
