OH MY GOSH! He is sooooo cute. He looks like a stuffed animal! No Revvell, not a taxidermy stuffed animal - a toy! What type of dog is he? He is really, really cute. Somehow I knew you would have a cute one!!! Awwwww! Enjoy his unconditional love! That's what I like about my "girls". No matter how long or soon ago they have seen me, they act like they've missed me forever when I enter my house. They make my life!
Enjoy him. He sure is cute!!!

Ok, he's adorable. Uber adorable.
We aren't allowed to have pets, but admittedly have a contraband cat that is our little furball of love. Pet rawk.

Well, I started with all raw when I got him. I have a huge freezer full of all his food that he won’t eat (I buy the natures variety raw dog food and farmoore – this is pushing it for me, there is no way I can feed him meat from the butchers or market that doesn’t come in nuggets – I’ve already had to go half unconscious to feed him this!)
Now he has decided that he doesn’t like chicken, turkey, duck, or beef so he is only eating buffalo. As much as the thought of raw meat sickens me, I feel like it’s the best thing for him but he won’t eat it all the time.
I took him to a psychic and he told her that he has a sensitive stomach. Well, I hand feed him also because he won’t eat from his plate most of the time (ok people, yes, this is why I don’t have children, I would be a little overprotective and overbearing with them.) he loves eggs so I do a lot of eggs and veggies chopped up and lightly cooked. Sometimes brown rice with veggies and then the meat once a day or whenever he will eat it.
He will eat the beef when I coat it with my coconut powder. He LOVES my raw food. Dates and persimmons are his favorite. I give him smoothies at times and he just ate my whole bowl of strawberries I had sitting in front of me.
So I’m still a novice at this as I never thought I could feed raw meat. I also have some heavy ethical issues around it but then at the same time I feel like it is the best for them. So I’m definitely not an expert at this kind of raw feeding!

Alissa I struggle with the same thing! I have a hard time feeding them meat but I know they need it. Since mine pretty much only like chicken, I have started raising my own for eggs and hopefully they will learn to hunt the chickens themselves so I don't have to feel them meat anymore soon! LOL

Alissa, your boy is just precious. I think labradoodles are just about the cutest breed "blends" out there. How old is he?
You know, we just took in "Bruce," a black lab. I started him on raw right away and although he had a few bumps in the road in the beginning, he has really learned to love raw. But what's not to love?!
OK, so I thought I might share a bit of what Bruce gets each night. Hope this helps...
Nearly every night:
zucchini or yellow squash, sweet potatoe or carrots, sometimes a little broccoli, sometimes a little spinach, about 3/4 C nuts or seeds, and about 1/2 an apple. He also get a meat nearly every night such as ground turkey or chicken, chicken necks or wings, two raw eggs, or lamb. Each time I've tried to feed him beef, he gets sick to his stomach. I think it's just too rich for him. I will also throw in a little kefir and sardines from time to time.
I also purchased some vitamins, from www.dinovite.com. They include enzymes and vitiamins and minerals he might not be getting. They seems to advocate raw food on the web site and they aren't very expensive.
I put everything in the food processor and blend it until it's mush. Vegetables can be difficult for dogs to digest if they're not ground up (as they get it in the wild).
Hope this helps some. Looking forward to hearing more about your baby... :)

Here is our Raw Baby Girl...Sadie.
She had a skin problem before going raw ...wouldn't stop itching. Now her coat is soft and shiny like when she was a puppy. No more itching.
We feed her the pulp from the juicer...mixed with raw meat.
We also throw her the ends of the tomatoes when we are chopping tomatoes. She loves them.

There is no way I could feed my dogs raw meat or eggs. The very thought of it makes my skin crawl...sorry. You are all braver, more courageous souls then I. UGH!
I feed mine Royal Canine - a kibble. They have their fine share of my raw foods too. Smoothies, veggies, fruits, etc.

I have been barfing my four for quite some time - the benefits they have reaped from the diet outweighs any repulsion I may have for handling meat. They also love my green smoothies, raw apples, pears, and bananas, and dehydrated crackers/bread. ~ Cathy

Alissa, thank you for sharing.....Your baby is really lucky to have such a considerate raw vegan mommy to feed him raw meat!
My dog has been on a raw food diet for 5 years. He eats raw meat (beef and chicken), green juice and pulp (no fruit juice, except a little apple), sprouted sunflower seeds butter, sprouted almonds butter, hemp seeds butter. I found that he loves cilantro, but doesn't care for parsley, how funny! He gets just one bite of every kind of fruit we eat, but I would actually grind and chew the fruit in my month first before feeding it to him. I also feed him chicken organs once every other week. I grind the organs and brown rice together and put a little ACV in it for him. He doesn't get any "junk food", but he gets all the love and kisses from us as treat.
My dog does not smell and is very calm since day one of this raw diet. He has not been sick even once since I got him when he was 8 weeks old.
Please share your doggie recipes with us in the future.

Have any of you heard of The Honest Kitchen?
http://www.thehonestkitchen.com/index.shtml
We just started our golden on it after finding the barf patties too expensive and gross to deal with. This new food is raw and dehydrated; you reconstitute the food with water. It looks like an oatmealy-stewish soup. The company has several different mixes including one mix without meat that you can add your own protein source to. We found a 30% off coupon online which helps keep the cost down. Anyway, our lovely beast really likes this food.
