What is your favorite ice cream recipe? I just bought a ice cream maker, and tried the one from lucy. It was good, just wanted to get some other favorites!

Hey - thanks! I added strawberries this last time and that was very good. Andypdx posted one. I'll see if I can find it...brb!
Okay, here's a link:

Also by omitting the cacao in mine (and the nibs), you have a base for whatever flavor you want to make it. Blueberries added would be good. Pineapple would be good. Maca powder would be sort of a peanutty-butter type taste. Lots of possibilities by using the "base" and not adding the cacao...

IF you go to http://rawfoodrightnow.blogspot.com, they have an ice cream course (all online) and a link to a freshtopia video with 5 recipes.

Veganforlife,
Thanks for posting that link as I was interested in andypdx's ice cream when I saw the photos of it on the photo page. The entire posting of that was hilarious about him. Yep he is a cutie. Poor guy must be embarassed by it all. :)

I for one am tired of seeing the same questions repeated ad nauseam almost every week for the last 4 years.
People before you post a question, at least use the banana icon with the word Search under it.
YOu will find the book "Vice Cream" mentioned, so you are not original for buying this book.
Not only will you find "Vice Cream" mentioned, you will also find recipes from the book.
You will even find the recipe used by Pure Food and Wine for their famous icecream.
I can't believe with the amount of recipes listed in the archives on this site, that some can't be bothered to look for themselves.
Cashew icecream recipes have been on here for at least 2.5 years.
How many times do we have to reinvent the wheel?
For God's sake use the banana!!!!

I supposed instead of a long drawn out speech on the use of the banana at the top of the page...you could have simple said, "there are great recipes on previous posts if you use the banana." You know some users are still new to this website and haven't had the chance of exploring all there is to offer here. It's not that they QUOTE: "can't be bothered to look for themselves", they honestly don't know how to use the banana for a search. Perhaps some only come here once in a while and really are interested in the really good recipes instead of filing through hundreds of posts.
As for me, the book Vice Cream came across my path when I was looking for another book online totally by chance. I didn't say I was the only person who ever read it and that I am "the original". I was offering someone information I thought would be helpful. Isn't that what this website is all about?? Being helpful to your fellow foodie???
Remember, we were all beginners here at one point. Let's try helping eachother out instead of shaking a finger.

rawgreenyogini,
Yes, that is true I feel like a dope but kept hearing people mention the banana search and I thought it was a search engine so tried to find it online. Then again I was already using it but in a different way. Instead I would click the search tab top right and then click go advanced and search that way. I never noticed the banana icon with search under it and it's so obvious.
Also alot of times I don't know what a particular recipe is called so I type in the typical name and alot of times get a bunch of other stuff and try doing some searching through posts but it is time consuming.
I appreciate that everyone on her is so helpful to newbies that are raw or thinking of being raw.;)

Even though this is a forum not a library! I think it is great to use the banana to see what is already posted but maybe someone did reinvent the "ice cream" and saw your post and put up their brand new recipe.
A forum is about interaction it would be awful if people felt intimated to post or just because someone made a post about something no ever talked about it or commented on it again.
You don't like a thread, don't read it and have tolerance for others. I love when so many of the great people here are considerate enought to post the link to the old thread which is so helpful and nice.
GO RFT forum helpers you rawk!!
Just my 2 cents

Wow, I am guilty of not searching too. I also didn't know anything about a search function. Thanks for the info, although it could have been presented in better way.:o
