Ok, I made a green smoothie with green butter lettuce, blueberries, banana and lemon. I drank some on the same day I made it, then I refrigerated the rest. I brought it to work today, and I went to drink some and it had gotten all thick and chunky. It made me wanna gag and now I can't drink it. It was smooth and sweet yesterday. Anybody that has more experience making green (well, it was purple due to the blueberries) smoothies know anything about this?

It'll separate when it sits. Shake it up. Should be fine. IF not, add more fluid.

Thanks, I'll add more water when I get home. :)

You think the blueberries congealed some?? This happens to me, I only make enough smoothie to drink at one time, I always wondered what the trick was for "storing" your smoothie for the whole day.....I'd like to make enough for the whole day and just drink a glass at a time. Wondering if SHAKING does the trick...????

Hi tville,

Yes, I shook it, and that usually works but you got it right....it congealed! I don't wanna waste it so I'll add some water when I get home and if that doesn't work I'm tossing it. Too bad I can't whip them up here at work, eh? Hehehe.

I had that happen once. Running it through the blender for a short pulse did hte trick. Basically all the fiber rose to the top and
gelled.

However, BEFORE you shake it up, it makes a cool looking green moustache!!! :D
It happens to me all the time. Just shake it up and it'll be fine!

yeah..its the blueberries...they get like gelatin. If you wanna save them for later...leave out the "blubes"..(as we call them)

No more Blueberries in my green smoothies. It just happened to me today. Yuck, it wouldn't even go down the drain. Never again....That was the first time in 10 months I put blueberries in!

Well, I was craving a blueberry pie and I made it and it turned out to be a MESS! That gelatinous stuff. ...I'm not feeling it. I wasted almonds and so many blueberries. I really do love blueberries naked with Alissa's whipped cream. That's more divine than that blueberry pie and nobody prepares you for the outcome of the pie when they write the recipe. Ew!
