I need help.
I've been giving him green smoothies for breakfast and giving him fruit for his morning break but he says he's starving he can't get the energy he needs for his demanding job. His job requires energy and focus he's on a machine.
Please give me tips, recipes, whatever you feed your husband please let me know.
He's much healthier because of the raw foods i give him but he just says he needs more for breakfast.
He mentioned potatoes, rice cereal and raw oatmeal but he's bored with these.
I really need you all:)

what are you adding to his smoothies?
my dh noticed the diff when i left out the handful of nuts.
add some coconut oil 1T too. to keep the sugar from the fruit from spiking & dropping.
maybe even a T of ground flax for staying power & filling him up more.

Ditto to both of the above. My dh has also eaten calzone for breakfast! Enchiladas, Choc. shakes, it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be a "breakfast" food to be eaten at breakfast.;)

Bananas and dates keep my hubby powered upthru his 12 hr work day.
Try making a raw granola type cereal
Soak dates in glass of nut milk, refridgerate add nuts berries and coconut shreds and eat like a parfait
Two avacados on a mix green and olive salad with flax crackers on the side followed by a strawberry smoothie (frozen bananas and nut milk as the base, no ice)
Make a breakfast nut sausage wrap, use walnut taco meat recipie substituting cumin with fennel an ading lot of cilantro, raw onion and garlic during the food processing step. Wrap in Romaine with other diced veggies.

He's been so patient with me but he says he's suffering at breakfast time.
You've made life easier for us both:D

I would stick with smoothies for breakfast, honestly.....bagels and all that can be hard to digest in the am. Nuts, too.
Are you adding avocado? Hemp protein powder? Maca (it will add spice to your sex life, too; what he doesn't know won't hurt him - lol) or other proteins? When I add those, it separates my men smoothies from the boy smoothies. Oh, and UDO'S OIL. My god, you are not hungry for the WHOLE DAY.

lifeAgift - - those breakfast sausages sound really yummy! I will have to try them.
Bethanie--
I send my DH off to work with the following:
3 bananas (usually he eats one while driving the whopping 2 miles to work!)
1 apple
a very small handful of mixed nuts (otherwise he will eat nothing else)
small ziploc of baby carrots
I make him a avocado/tomato/lettuce/onion/cucumber/tahini/whatever else i feel like throwing on it sandwich (2)
I also make him a juice smoothie in the morning....the rest of the day it is up to him.
sometimes he comes home and tells me he ate everything, and sometimes he comes home and tells me he has leftovers...I guess it just depends on how busy he is.
hope this helps

Bethanie,
Maybe your husband is really not hungry, he just thinks he is. I know sometimes when I think I am hungry, I drink a huge 16oz glass of water or so and that fills up my stomach...no more growllies (sp?). My husband swears by drinking large amounts of water too. And drinking ice cold water is good for you too. I think a lot of the time we are so conditioned to eat breakfast at a certain time, and then lunch at a certain time, dinner at a certain time regardless if our body is really telling us we need the food for energy.
anyway...that's my 2 cents.

Bethanie,
Hello my name is jody, my husband has been raw for about 9 years, almost 100%. He has a machine shop and is always needing his focus and energy. In the beginning your body will feel hungry when you start eating more raw. You will feel hunger because your body is realeasing toxins, when you eat raw foods your body will release more toxins, thats why he is feeling hungry all the time. To help him tolerate this, incorporate more nuts in his diet. One thing I make at our restaraunt is a unchicken salad made with nuts. (we have a living foods restaraunt in PA) my husband eats this alot to help satisfy him when he feels he needs a little more than just fruit and veggies, also remember to always soak your nuts.
Most people live on a high fat diet here in America, so therefore the body is loaded with toxins. It is better to start your raw diet expierence with raw fats like avacados, nuts, olives and the greens. Stay away from the high sweet sugars and he will notice a difference. Green smoothies are a definite!!
A chocolate young coconut (with the meat and water) and maca smoothie and agave to sweeten will also give him the fats and the energy boost.
hope this helps you and your husband.
