What is the refrigerated shelf life of a fresh batch of raw almond butter?
I made a whole jar - it will take me a week to eat it all!!!
Also, I'm wondering what other nuts/seeds are tastey as raw butters. (?)

I've made raw almond butter, but it only lasted a couple of days, so I buy it, and it lasts forever. Also, it doesn't warm up my champion juicer that way.
Cashew butter is excellent, macademia nut butter is wonderfully decadent, tahini, which is sesami seed butter.
Walnut butter is very bitter, so I don't recommend it.
Pecan is sweet, hazelnut is to live for, very nice, and brazil nut is very heavy and meaty tasting, or at least to me.
Make up a small batch of each and see which ones you like.
There is a website, don't remember the name that make "Milk of Paradise" which is a mixture of two or three nut butters, they sell it for a fortune, I believe it is macademia nut, almond and cashew butters mixed together, but maybe someone here knows for sure.
I hear it is magnificent.
If you want to use up alot of almond butter, you can use it in smoothies, or to make almond milk out of, just add some to water, and blend, or you can make gravy out of it, I think Alissa has a recipe in her book, that used 1 cup or almond butter, which is 2 cups of almonds.

I can't wait to try these other varieties! mmmm... Also, I think I'm beginning to understand how versatile nut butters can be- as a base or as an ingredient... so thanks, the wheels of "the art of food" are turning!

I am head over heels for raw almond butter. my sis and i fight over it now. jsut bought a jar yesterday and POOF! like we never bought it.
I love mixing it with some distilled water to create a sauce like texture and drizzle it with raw honey add chopped bananas and sprinkle cinnamon. :p

Oh MIsslinda, that sounds so good,
there was a thread a while ago, about all the members who ate a banana dipped in almond butter, drizzled with honey for breakfast, I think it was about all of us.
