Well I adore it. After the Fudge balls I made the 'Cinnamon Girls' from the book 'RAWvolution' by Matt Amsden and they are also amazing. I LOVE them both! Very easy & soooo fabulous.

I totally agree...cinnamon is superb...I love it especially when blending a bit with banana in my green smoothies...great combo. Plus, other than tasting fab, it has the wonderful benefit in helping to reduce spikes in insulin caused by fruit sugars...what more reasons could you need to try this?!!

I just tasted my first Green Smoothie with cinnamon & it is delicious. It totally covers up the green taste. I used blueberries, cherries, a banana, Alissa's Green powder & lots of Spinach. Even with all the greens I can taste the wonderful cinnamon. I love it! Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you use the powder? Or do you use the sticks?
Does it matter? I guess it's all the same. I am so used to cinnamon with sugar. I've never had it by itself in stuff. I will try it today. :-)

I just dug up this thread looking for novel ways to use cinnamon and/or what constitutes "too much" cinnamon...

I just have been munching on a cinnamon stick... and it is sooooo good. I don't know what made me do that, but my taste buds are just in lala land. :)

I just tried organic cinnamon for the first time & WOW, what a difference! I was soooo suprized!
Non-irradiated, too! (Most spices are, for some dumb reason...)

Anastazia -- Where did you get it? Just a regular store? I don't think the stores here have organic cinnamon. I do know the cinnamon I have that is ground is clearly marked as non-irradiated. I do my best to find spices that are not irradiated, but I shrug my shoulders and enjoy what I get when it's not possible.

I think I totally have a new cinnamon fetish now!!! Soooo... pray tell where you got the organic goods. Inquiring minds wanna know.

Hey "Cinnamon", I thought of you immediately when I saw this post! I love it too.

Maybe the spices are irradiated to try to kill some of the potential contamination from the country of origin. They may not have such stringent cleanliness standards in their processing?? Just a thought.

I have also heard that cinnamon is very good for the heart and circulation. Good enough reason for me!

AND I immediately felt really woken up mentally after munching on it, which led to a google search. Apparently cinnamon is commonly touted for many healing properties, and is superb with improving mental clarity and performance! Which I felt myself, so that is very interesting to me!

How sweet of you to think of me! I did find an organic cinnamon and wow the flavor difference was incredible. I've also read that it is great for the heart and circulation but also for blood sugar stabilization. I know that raw foods has stabilized my blood sugar (from the mid 100 range to now consistently in the 80's for a morning fasting reading!) but I also credit daily consumption of cinnamon too.

Isn't it delicious in a green smoothie!!

Cinnamon -- Do you ever just munch on it, or do you always add it to a green smoothie or recipe?

I've been making a lot of really, really tasty chocolate lately and am thinking about just munching on a cinnamon stick when I'm finished every time so I don't feel the effect on my blood sugar (and there is one -- nothing like a commercial candy bar, but I feel it!)...
