Sorry if this has been asked before, but after searching through other's posts, I couldn't find an answer. :)

I soaked some spelt and am trying to sprout it, following Alissa's instructions. This is day 3 and some of them have little, tiny sprout like finger things, almost like a potato when it starts to get the root thing going. It also smells kinda gamey, like bread but could almost be beer like too. Is this normal? I can imagine that the bread/beer like smell is normal, considering it's a grain. However, I can also guess it's fermenting. But the tiny potato sprouts are a bit strange.

Not sure if they are edible.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

If you take some of them now and put them in water they will ferment and create rejuvelac.

What is rejuvelac and what is it good for?
