At my local organic/healthfood/supermarket today I bought some "raw cocoa powder" Is that the same as cacoa powder?

Probably...'specially if it says "raw" BUT, you may want to ask and check it out. I mean, I've seen in my co-op "organic cocoa powder" but not anything that said "raw cocoa powder" and I know the organic cocoa is NOT raw...but maybe the one in your store is. Cacao is cocoa...not sure of origin of the different way of spelling it but remember someone saying once cacao just a fancier way of saying/spelling cocoa. :::shrugs:::

Ok...got my answer...

From Wikipedia:

"Cocoa is the dried and partially fermented fatty seed of the cacao tree from which chocolate is made. "Cocoa" can often also refer to cocoa powder, the dry powder made by grinding cocoa seeds and removing the cocoa butter from the dark, bitter cocoa solids."
