I was wondering if anyone has some good recipes that don't include nuts, soy, pineapple, coconut and avocado. I'm on a Gerson diet for cancer and it forbids all those things. I've been eating lots and lots of fruit, but somehow am craving veggies or just something that is more of a salad then a single food item.

Hey, have you tried smoothies? You can put veggies in those to make them more of a meal, for example baby spinach and cucumber and anything else really like kale or brocolli! I find the less sweet they are, the more satisfying they are. When I have a really sweet smoothie I tend to get hungry faster.

Also, baby spinach and cherry tomatoes (or ordinary tomatoes) with a balsamic vinegar and raw honey/ agave nectar dressing is really satisfying... you could also add in some chopped pepper and shredded/ grated carrot to make it more substantial.

Hope that helped!

Ditto on the green smoothies. You can also find a ton of recipes in Alissa's book. Here is a thread you might also find helpful: http://rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=28470

You could also eat salads w/out the aforementioned items. There are so MANY recipes on here for salads, cold slaw, things like that... AND smoothies.

Could you do a zucchini "pasta" with a marinara sauce? If the sauce recipe calls for any type of soy sauce such as nama shoyu, just omit it.

Also, can you do collard wraps where you wrap sliced onions, shredded carrots, and any other veggies of choice up into a collard leaf? I know Alissa's recipe calls for marinating in nama shoyu (which is soy-based) but you could possibly just lightly coat with olive oil and sea salt and any seasonings you may want to add, toss that with your hands and then roll it up in a leaf (even lettuce leaves work fine) and eat it instead of salad sometimes.

And you can do a search on her for fat-free salad dressings and vinaigrettes and as Revvell said, have your salads without the items you cannot have...just load it up with those veggies you love that you CAN have and top with a nut-free, shoyu sauce-free dressing.

Are you doing red clover at all? For cancer? Dr. Christopher called it the cure, hands down.

Gerson does great great work. Very good for you!

Can you do nori rolls? I've made pate with cauliflower before. Just season it. You can do that, perhaps.

Also, you can make rice dishes with cauliflower. :-)

Fats really kinda can fund disease, or halt healing. I really am going to look into that more, too. Some sense there.

WAY TO GO!

yeah thats why dr doug recomends under 10% of calories from fat once you have secured raw eating..

its like 'cruse control'. flick the switch to 10% and just cruse over any health obstacles..

Durianrider, I think the "rawfoodleaders" (cousins, Graham) really should speak openly with eachother about their big differences in dietapproach. As long as they are only publishing about their own church, and not interview eachother about the big differences (Cousins & Clement: low sugar / Graham: high sugar)
it is not good for the rawfood community. We don't want to become like religion.

Great great post, LL.

High fat is not great for cancer.

But some raw foodists just get much too much too thin on all fruit and no fat, etc. Everybody is different.

if you undereat calories on the kfc diet you will get to thin..
undereating longterm is not healthy. missing out on whole foods, sufficient water, minerals etc..

ll that is a great idea but i reckon it would destroy the raw movement..ie then society would say' oh but now i cant have raw pizza cos its missing the water content i need..may as well have a cooked one..its cheaper and easier to make.'
you know how society thinks..

im glad dougy is in the backwaters dragg'n people to shore that survived the plunge into the raw abyss. he is like 'so your serious about this way of life eh?, will this is how it is in the raw jungle, follow the strong people and youll be right!'

is that analogy working for you?
i feel like an usher..telling people to keep walking forward when i see their time is up at a certain place. dont want them to miss out on thier potential.
keep the raw production line moving....

like wearing shoes the same size all our life..that will hurt us. we have to move forward..no matter how sentimental or comforting those shoes were...pass em on to someone that fits em.

we just have to look around at society today..its not a world of fit people eating just enough...its a world of overweight people that have control of the money and therefore control the way society is for all..best to appeal to them...ie get pizza gut making rv pizzas..then go from there.

jumping from steaks and lies to nut loafs and pizza pies easier. i think its important to tell people initially what they would do rather than what they 'should' do..let em build up the taste for it and then hit em with the case of bananas!

raw vegan manipulation at its highest form! lol!

people are gonna plant chocolate forrests before peach forrests..in a world of deforrestation..any trees is better than none..
