I have been making watermelon juice. I strain it so it is nice and smooth.
It's really good for fasting and all, but for some reason I can not upload the photo.
Take my word.. it's good. The juice is good i mean. I add minerals to it too.

I also love watermelon juice, but I make it in my blender, seeds and all. It is way too liquidy to be called a smoothie, and I blend the ever living crud out of it so the seeds become powder and blend in with the liquid. That stuff is addictive I say...ADDICTIVE! But it is a GOOD addiction!

I am going to have to make some watermelon juice. I wish I had some right now. I have always liked watermelon but for the last 2 to 3 weeks I have not been able to get enough. It is just after 10:00 p.m. and I am so tempted to run to the store for some watermelon - I don't know what has happened to me. I'm going to try it tomorrow I think.:D

I too, am a watermelon juice lover. I have a question though: Why do you juice the rind? Isn't it too thick to juice? Isn't it too bitter? I have always tossed the rind part out.
Also, why do you juice the seeds? Are the seeds good for you?
I only know about juicing the actual flesh of the watermelon and appreciate you shedding some light on the seeds and rind.
Seedless vs seeded??
Thanks,
Jeannie

In one of my books it mixes watermelon juice with rosewater, just a teaspoon per glass. It sounded so nice that I gave it a try. It definitely gets a thumbs up! :)

Remember. We are very blessed in that we get to Choose what we eat. That is better than winning the lottery.
Your signature line is great - it makes a very good point!! I sometimes think how fortunate we are to have functioning bodies; if we were to find ourselves one day completely paralyzed without any hope of becoming mobile again; what price would we pay for a working body? Even more inspiration to take the best care of our bodies that we can. . .

juice the rind cuz thats where all the vitamins and minerals really are. plus loads of chlorophyll.
i dont have a vitamix so when i blend the fruit with the rind juice the seed stuff just falls to the bottom and i dont drink it.
as for the seed thing, im sure there is something good about them. i would never take the time to remove seeds from a watermelon whether i am eating or juicing so its not a conscious thing of keeping the seeds in

I'm newly raw...just got back from farmers market and picked up a local yellow melon....I like the idea of juicing the rind and blending the rest....I love to eat it too, though and sometimes feel like I could eat the whole thing without even blending.

Great idea! I read, too, that watermelon is packed with lycopene.
Curious....what color did it turn out to be?? Pink?

Mmmm I love watermelon juice! Although, I blend it up and strain it rather than juicing it. I also add green powder to it, it's great for green juice!!

I had watermelon juice today, too! I adore watermelon. (sighs fondly) I also love watermelon salsa. There is a fire and ice recipe I think on allrecipes. At first I though watermelon, salt, onions, and jalapenos would be horrid. Fell in love with it!

Hey Courtney~ *s*
Yes it was a beautiful pink. I liked it much better in the vitamix than juiced. It really didn't feel fibery to drink at all. It's funny how your tastes change on raw....I tried it afew years ago and even though I loved watermelon couldn't stand the juice..the lime is a really nice little touch, just agood squeeze, half a lime's worth.
Can't wait to get to the store to buy another one!!

I bought two large watermelons today, and ate 1/2 of one this evening in one sitting. yum.
I've juice watermelon before in the juicer, but after reading all these posts, I'm going to throw it in the vitamix instead. Looking forward to having some for breakfast tomorrow.
Glimr -- I keep cut watermelon in the fridge.
Uncut ones I set on the floor in front of the airvent, so when the a/c comes on, it gets a dose of cool air. A melon in this house doesn't hang around long -- 2-3 days at the most.

I made watermelon juice for the first time today - in the blender. Like everybody has said, it was GOOD! The seeds were ground very finely and fell to the bottom of blender/glass. Since I didn't have enough room to store much in the refridgerator, I blended more than I could drink today and stored 32 ounces of juice in glass jar and another 16 ounces in a plastic container in the refridgerator. How long will it last in the fridge?

OK...I love the watermelon...but I am finding that I love the juice from the rind, maybe more...
I take the rind with a small bit of the watermelon fruit and juice it all at once...It makes about a half gallon with a med/large melon...
It is so wonderful....refreshing like cucumber, but a little sweeter and greener tasting...
