I made a minty melon salad yesterday actually. i melon balled a huge cantaloupe, mixed in the juice of 1/2 lime, 2 tbsp fresh chopped mint, 2-3 tsp of chili powder and 1/4 tsp sea salt...YUMMY :)

B. I think you should just go for it and try it and see how YOUR body handles it! I mean, I can recall having fruit salad where someone would gut out a watermelon and have it all decorative and it'd be filled with watermelon balls, cantaloupe balls, banana slices, strawberries, grapes, etc. and it was downright tasty and I don't recall feeling poorly after eating it!

Those of us who don't mono-eat and make recipes, etc. break food combining "rules" all the time...sometimes with digestive repercussions and sometimes not...all depends on the person and on the combination. So, try a little and see how it treats you and if you don't get uncomfortable gas and bloating and indigestion, etc. then you know you can handle it...if not, then stick with the "rules" of eating melon alone.

I know that sometimes I'll have a breakfast of watermelon and cantaloupe together and though they are both melons, according to the "rules" it "should" be only one at a time and not even two different types of melon together (from what I've read anyways) but I didn't get any ill effects from that either.

So again, just try it out and see how you feel.

I had a salad for lunch today that also had some fruit salad tossed in with it. The fruit had canteloupe and honeydew in it. I am still alive and had no ill effects at all. It was a delicious salad. It was spinach, lettuce, carrots, celery, cucumber, red pepper, red onion, sunflower seed, cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, red grape with a dressing of just fresh squeezed orange juice. It was delicious!:p My stomach is 100% fine, and I have not developed any new diseases yet.
