Felafel Heaven!!

Pipen17 and I just tried Alissa's felafel recipe! How delicious! It was so much more flavorful then felafel that I remember making or eating out - since we tasted the "batter" we couldn't wait for it to dehydrate so we took it out early. We also skipped the cucumber sauce as it did not seem to need anything - perhaps we should have wrapped it in lettuce leaves, but it was so good as is.

Anyway, just wanted to give my praises for what I am sure will become a staple around our household. Next time we will make a large batch to share with our cooked vegan housemates.

I'm going to try again next week; I used the wrong kind of nuts (pine nuts thinking they would be an okay substitute - duh..turned those falafels into greasy heavy blocks)..

I am really craving the falafels I used to eat and really want one badly right now.. this falafel thing has been going on since the beginning of June..my goodness, I've got to try to get this recipe right....

Oh my! I loooove Alissa's Falafels. I actually just made them yesterday for dinner and have lots of leftovers that I have been munchin' on. They are delicious. I wrap them up in a savoy cabbage leaf, along with a slice of cucumber, tomato and hummus....oh and of course hot sauce. :D (I'm a pepperhead lol)

I actually got my S.A.D. eatin' hubby to try them and he fell in love with them! Ya!

Would they work with sprouted chickpeas, and maybe some tahini?
