Hi all,
I have decided to add more cardio to my routine to lose weight more quickly. I already use my bike at least 30 minutes a day to run my errands, and I go to the gym and lift some weights 2 times a week, but I also have an eliptical machine at home that I rarely use right now (I used it a lot last year).
Would it be more beneficial to use the machine or to jog at the park, for toning my legs/bum and to burn calories?
I love the machine, while I find jogging a bit boring, but I don't mind it if I need to do it.
I was thinking to do 1 hour cardio, either with the machine or at the park.
What would you suggest?
Thank you in advance and apologise my bad english :o

I'd say get out and get some fresh air. Even if the air outside isn't all that "fresh", studies have found that it's better than the air indoors.

I would rather be outdoors hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. - I don't like being indoors - I guess all the years working in an office cubicle.
If you would rather use the elliptical machine, it does have the benefit of no impact on your knees and joints. When I was a long-distance runner, I would use the elliptical machine a couple days a week because the muscles were a little different and it would not have an impact on my joints.
Also, when I used the elliptical machine, I worked HARD and had weights in my hands so that I got an extra workout. While moving my legs with the machine, I would alternate different exercises for my arms and shoulders. I got a WOW workout for my body using the elliptical machine without causing any damage to my knees.
It is better in other ways to run outside. And you're in one of the more beautiful places in the world. I'm glad you're already at least enjoying it by biking!
Do what you want, and realize that either way you are doing something good for yourself!
By the way, your English is great. No need for an apology.

I love being outdoors. I live in a wonderful area and its a nice break from working indoors for most of the day (at least for me). On the other hand, I have to switch and spin (bike) at home some days because I want to minimize the impact on my knees. I have to spend top $$ for my running shoes because my feet are as flat as pancakes and I could cause a lot of damage if I'm not careful. I want to get the most ware out of them. Also I don’t like being out in the rain or extreme heat so it’s good to have more than one option.

Thank you for your suggestions.
I think you're right, probably I should alternate... I went running this morning, it is so hot here that I need to get up at 5 am  if I don't want to collapse, so I may do this 2 or 3 times a week, and the other days I may take it easier and use the eliptical machine :D
Grazie!
