O.k. you guys!!!!!!!!!!! I have officially FALLEN IN LOVE!!!!!!!! Yes, I have been swept off of my feet, twirled around in the air, blissfully carried away by...ALISSA'S WATERMELON SOUP!!!!!!!!!!!!! This soup is ABSOLUTELY ***THE**** BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could easily eat this every day of my entire life!!! I had my doubts when I saw how expensive Cardamon is, but thank God I bought it!!! This is FABULOUS!!!!!!!
Anybody had any other soups that come even remotely close to being this good???? Share, share please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ReneeH for sharing. My book is on its way and I would NEVER have tried such a recipe - but with your exuberant post - I definetly will!
My favorite soup now is carrot/avacado soup. One cup carrot juice, blend with 1/2 avacado and add cumin and Braggs Aminos to taste (just small dash of each works for me). Serve in a bowl over a handful of crunchy sprouts like mung bean sprouts and its to die for in my opinion!! I eat it with a fork until the sprouts are gone and then polish it off with a spoon. Newbies to RAW I have served it too always like this soup!

I LOVE the soup too and although I don't have cardamon I use nutmeg instead.

I haven't tried her watermelon soup recipe yet..mmm? I might have to... I love watermelon so passionately as it is...I might just have to try this soup.

I am going to try your soup tomorrow...thanks for posting... I was wondering what to do with my extra carrots (which I will be juicing anyway)..and I have an avocado that I don't want to go bad....I don't have the sprouts I'm going to try it out your way and then if I might add in some garlic (it seems I want garlic in everything)... MMMM? Your carrot-avo soup has me thinking about doing something with these squash I bought at the farmer's market....

I just made this! It's really good - I briefly thought it seemed to cardamom-y, but I poured it into a huge glass and I'm just drinking it. I've almost finished the full batch, and I feel very sloshy inside :D

How many pounds of watermelon did you need to get to the amount of cups required? I can only seem to find the smaller watermelon's that are organic, ---was wondering if i need to buy two.thanks ahead of time

I'm not sure but it wasn't as much as I thought it would be. I bought a 20 pound watermelon the other day and cut it all up and put it in the fridge. maybe 4 pounds? you could always halve the recipe if you don't get enough.

Hi Jenna!
Actually, in this recipe, Alissa says to add CHUNKS of Watermelon and Mango. So, it's not totally "Smoothie-Like" like you're probably thinking. You can actually eat it with a spoon and be totally satisfied because of the pieces of fruit in it! Give it a TRY!!! You'll LOVE it!!! I look forward to seeing your creative photo!!! ;)

smoothies and soup are pretty much the same
soups I make as a meal like tomato or red pepper and last night I made a broccoli soup
if these are cold I leave em cold
if i want them warm I leave Vita on for a lil to warm them
smoothies i keep them fruit usually
i rarely mix fruit and veg together for proper food combining and digestibility
in both, I can add fruit/veggies later to have chunks in it
i add em in and do a very fast switch on of vita n shut it right back off....voila!

I too love this soup, Renee! In my Alissa and Annie thread I noted that I found it heavy on the ginger (and I'm a big ginger lover!) and also that I liked it better when it had chilled for a couple of hours.
Good to be back and see you here!
