I would like to be the first to say i was really glad to find this site... and then i was really glad to find fellow raw teens... and i was very excited to find that the ones i've talked to thought we should talk more... and that we probably think along the same lines and can be a big-time support for each other since our ideals and those of the adults around us can be a bit different.
So i'll go first. My name is Pam, I'm 16 and i have been eating raw for 2 months and have lost 35 pounds. No one in my area eats raw and hardly anyone is a vegetarian. :( It's all very sad, i know....
Any volunteers as to who would like to pipe in next...?

Well, I'm no longer a teenager as of Monday, but I think I can still join ya. My name is Tracey and I'm 20. I live in VA and have been raw off and on for 4 years. Usually on in the summer and off in the winter, but with each "session" of raw getting longer. This last time I was "off" I stayed vegan. I've been vegan now for 1.5 years straight.
There isn't much support here at all. Most are confused or think I'm crazy. My parents were worried at first, but now they see the positive changes that have occured and my mom actually says I need to be raw for my own sanity lol.

You're in VA? Did it say that in this post and I just missed it? lol. I tend to do that. If you are in VA, where if you don't mind me asking?

Hey, Im Seren and Im 17.
I first came across this website roundabout exactly a year ago. The longest I have been raw 100% is 2 weeks - that was last year. Since then over the winter I sorta gave up on it coz i was on the pill and i had a pretty stressfull time and raw was last thing on my mind.
Im now here again, hoping to make it to high raw continuosly, rather than all over the place!
Good luck on your raw journey!!
Love Seren x x x

Hi Seren it's nice to meet you I'm Pam.
I know it's hard to keep up being 100%. (Especially when your the cook at your house and have to cook some of your favorite cooked meals for your unraw family!!!) I've cheated a couple times myself... but only twice and it was because it was an awkward situation... Anyway. I hope you can keep it up! Good luck to you too!!!

Hey guys! I'm not a teen anymore (young adult? I'm 21) I started raw in my teens. I was 100% for about 16 months, and now I'm high raw. Had to find the best place of balance for me :)
I'm a college student, and love hearing from so many young people loving raw.
I'm in Seattle...

That's awesome! I'm in Manassas now, but in the fall I'm transferring to JMU, which is in Harrisonburg!

Hey!
I'm 18 and from the "O.C." I think a lot of people in soCal are raw, but I'm the only one I've ever met. Its hard sometimes because some people think I have an eating disorder because i refuse to eat anything but the most healthy foods. Oh, well, I know that I want to meake myself healthier, not destroy my body.

LOL. Isn't that funny?! cool... I think there are a bunch JMU students who are more open minded. That why i'm excited to go to college cause there is going to be so much more diversity and people who think like me! Well congrats!
Hey... I'm glad to see younger people being raw too. You always wonder if you're alone even though you KNOW your really not... But at first I was afraid i wouldn't find anyone even NEAR my age. But i've found my fair share!

I see more and more young raw people and it gives me hope for this world :) The younger we start, the more likely it'll pass down to our children (if we have any) and so on and so forth.

Im 16 and July 11 was my 2 year anniversary of being vegan, but i just started eating raw for 2 days now. I love it so far, i have always eaten alot of raw foods, but now i made the switch to 100% raw. It started because i realized how much waste is created because of food rappers and containers etc. im glad that theres other kids like all you guys all supporting each other. its like a family except with people we never met before! haha

My name is Becky and I'm 17 and live in Phoenix :) My brother and I got into raw together while he was living at the house two years ago, I was very high raw when I was 15 and then stopped being raw the second half of my sophmore year and most of my junior year (tried on and off to go back to raw) and now a few days ago (six actually!) I decided I was ready to go back to 100%!
I don't think I've lost any weight yet but I am much more slender, the cooked reserves that were filling me up in various parts of my body are starting to go :D

My name's Danielle, I'm from So Cal and I'm eighteen. I have been raw on and off for a while now, but today is another "let's try it again," day. The longest I was raw was 2 months and I lost 56 pounds. I have gained 20 of those back from eating an unhealthy vegan diet. My main struggles are definately drinking and eating out. Living in So Cal there are so many good vegan restraunts and it sucks not eating what my body thinks I want!! I feel really unhealthy right now and I am very unhappy with my current appearance. I plan on updating my blog daily so feel free to check it out :)

My name is Christina and I live here in Oregon - soon to be going to college in Spokane WA. I'm 17 and I have been raw on and off since last summer. I'm on the 30 day raw challenge since the first of July, and I believe I will be 100% until I die (that's the plan anyway);) :D

I'm Marie. I am a 14 year old in Ky. I have been 100% raw since 12/23/06, and I've lost 58 lbs. Not a single raw person that I know of in Ky, no vegans either though their are some vegitarians. Yet most of them gorge on pizza, french fries, popcorn, and the like. Most people around here call me anerexic, not that I look it, I'm just the only healthy person that these people have ever laid their eyes. Nice to know there are more raw teens out there!

Hey guys, nice to meet all of you! I am also no longer a teen, but I guess I am young at heart! I'm 21, go to university in Sydney, and have been pretty much playing around with the idea of raw on and off for a year or so now, but I have been vegan for much longer than that.
On a random note, has anyone converted another friend or person to vegan or raw? My boyfriend's favourite foods are DEEP FRIED PIE SANDWICHES and no I am not joking. Help!

isnt it amazing how you can influence people without preaching to them? at lunch at my school i would always bring raw produce and what not, and one day my freind went to the salad line instead of the burger line and she told me "emily, you inspired me to eat healthy". i felt so touched!

Hi guys!
I'm really new at this, but I thought I should jump in anyways.
I'm fifteen and I go to boarding school up in Boston, I've been raw for about a week and it's really great to see other teens outhere doing the same.
Any pointers on how to keep raw while at schooooool?

what i found best is to have a raw bar with me. i prefer larabars in the flavor of ginger snap. they are filling and small enough to just throw in your bag and have it there for times when you need energy or a snack.
also i am back to the group now. i didn't last long before and i gained 9 more pounds, but i have lost a few of them. today will be my fourth day back at 100% raw. i no longer have cravings for uncooked foods because i have been eating a lot of greens, well drinking them! i really reccomend green smoothies! they are amazing.
