Apple Pie?

Hi everyone. I made apple pie last night but didn't like the crust too much it was sweet from the raisins and dates I added to the pecans and walnuts, but I felt like it need to be a little saltier too (if that makes any sense) Anyway.

Does anyone have any suggestions (especially for the crust)? Are there better nuts/seeds to use?

You could just use fewer dates, more nuts, and a pinch of sea salt?

I know what you mean about the saltiness. It's really good with the sweet fruit.:p

Also, you know you CAN make pie without any crust at all... there are NO laws here! lol

The last pie that I made I used the sunflower seed base and I was very pleased with it.

I make mine with an almond crust. I think it tastes really good. Almonds aren't very sweet so it balances nicely with the sweetness of apples.
