After 5 months of stellar raw performance, I ate some sad stuff this weekend/last night. Sushi on Sat. Then SAD minestrone (vegetarian, but cooked) last night. I'd had a horrible day... and wanted "comfort" food.

Just goes to show me... my definition (my body's) comfort food has shifted.

After I had the sushi on Sat, I was dizzy. Lightheaded. Couldn't figure out why.
But then came last night. Sad food ... dizzy again.

I started off today right - a big old serving of honey dew. Muuuuch bettah.

I know we say it all the time, but we really do have to listen to our bodies.

You are an inspiration to me. I hope I could last 5 months before eating something sad. I do know, for me, as a food addict, sad will always be tempting for me. I do know that I love the raw lifestyle more than I have loved any other way of eating. It feels good, it feels right. I love it. When I have fallen off the wagon, I was always happier to come back to raw. It is, no doubt, the real comfort food.

I'm going through the same thing... after 14 days completely 100% raw, I gave in had some cooked carrots and tofu and feel HORRIBLE today :(

Yeah, I was very surprized at how poorly and uncomfortably my body reacted to cooked beans, something I used to digest well, but now my digestive system has shifted gears. Our bodies really talk to us.

Amen!

Our bodies really are amazing, when we take the time to sit down and just listen, they say when they need.

I think this is one of the absolute best things about being raw. Your cravings (and... anti-cravings) are so strong and defined. I know exactly what I want/need so it makes things so much easier. It is also so much easier to be raw and eat healthfully because the instant your body gets something crappy (SAD, cooked, alcohol, refined sugar, salt)... it lets you know. It feels great to be so pure and in tune with my body's health. ahhh.
