So I tried sprouting some quinoa this weekend, and it seems they were duds. Is it possible that the quinoa was partially roasted/toasted/oasted in some way? There were about 2 in the whole sprouting jar that sprouted, and the jar was really stinky and fermented smelling. I rinsed them very well twice a day, so I'm guessing the quinoa wasn't viable?
Thanks for any suggestions. :)

I would say either bad or cooked seeds... or... is quinoa supposed to sprout and grow a tail? I never really heard of it, but that doesn't mean anything. My friend decided to try with mustard seed... same thing happened. Sorry I don't know more, I'm instead as just as curious as you if anybody who knows something will answer - lol!!! :o

I sprouted some the other day and it did grow a tail.
I'm by no means an expert sprout girl, but because they are so small I sprouted them in a small strainer to keep lots of air flow.
