View Full Version : Seaweed at local asian store? I bought some!

My asian store where I get my coconuts at has a TON of different seaweed in packages. Most of it just says "dried" but some says obviously, "roasted" especially the nori. Today I bought a big bag of dried kelp for $2.79 - I've been wanting to add seaweed into my diet for a long time.

Question, though - is it raw, even though it's dried? If it doesn't say roasted, does that mean it was just sundried and is OK? It says DRIED KELP and everything else is in asian, LOL. That's why I'm not sure.

Also, does it need to be soaked since it's so salty? Wouldn't it get soggy and gross? Guess I'm needing some direction here on if I should eat it, and if so, how to eat it. TIA!
