food processor/homoginizer

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if a food processor does the same thing as a homogonizing juicer. I am confused because I was looking at a few recipes in Jeremy Safron's book and it said to put like almonds, dates, figs and raisons through the juicer. And I can't picture that! I have a nutrisource juicer and I thought those items clogg it up and that you can't get anything out of it? help, i want to try these items but I don't know if my food processor will work just as well.
