It seems that drinking copious amounts of green juice, for some people, is THE key to being a healthy raw foodist. So, what IS copious?
I mean, I would rarely have more than one juice a day but when i make it, it will normally amount to a liter of juice, eg, two zucchinis and 5 apples.
What does everyone else deem a lot?
And what combinations do you find particularly energizing?
Thanks*

In terms of ounces, I consider 32 ounces a lot. But I would drink that more than once a day.
Start measuring. it might help your dilemma.

Personally, a minimum of about 24 ounces a day keeps me cheerful and energetic. More than that is even better. But that much is easy for me to work into my diet by having it for breakfast. I'm personally very fond of green lemonade these days. I seem to go back and forth between that and green smoothies. Some days both. Good question though. Last I knew, Victoria Boutenko was touting two bunches of greens a day. I'm doing one and a half over the course of a day, minimum one, and I'm getting beautiful results. Glad you aware of this issue though:)

I drink a pint a day but I do not use any fruit to "cut it". I just use about 25% celery, 25% cucumber and 50% mixed green leaves and baby sprouts.

I think any amount consistently (i.e. daily) is better than doing 64 oz once a week. I find 32 oz to be a max amount for me, though that's an all-green juice (cucumber, celery, greens, lemon).

Is that basically the green lemonade recipe?

I don't know that recipe. Sounds like it though!! I can't say it tastes anything like lemonade... because it's not sweet. Just very very green :)

I put 1-2 bunches greens, 1/2 lemon, ginger and an apple in mine.
It tastes great but I don't drink it nearly often enough!
Thanks for the reminder.:)
ps-this is my version of the recipe in one of Natalia Roses books.

What juicers are you all using? I desperately need to juice greens, but I need a juicer that will actually juice them first!
( I have an original-ish Jack Lalanne Juicer, but it doesn't do greens nearly well enough.)

I do fine juicing greens in my trusty Champion but the Omega does an amazing job too and is specifically made for the greens. It's so worth the effort.

Alrighty :)
I talked to my beloved mom about it, and she said that could be our next joint investment :) (A Juicer. We've gotten an Excalibur, a Vitamix and a Food Processor and we both use them daily, so she knows that I don't just buy things and let them collect dust :)

Thanks to all for the different ideas.
I will definitely start juicing more greens, and more variations of juices.

I just throw my kale and fruit into the Vitamix. I think the entire leaf is so valuable as far as nutrients go. When I saw Tonya Zavasta speak her husband made us kale/mango smoothies and they were fantastic. So I'm kinda hooked on those. But if you don't have a juicer, and do have a good blender, that's all you need!

I like to drink a minimun of 3 16 ounce glasses. When doing a fast of course I drink more.
My 11 year old makes the best green juices and other raw delights and he says his secret is arugala. We like to vary what we use daily. I love green juice with lime and now that's it's summer I have been adding green pears or green apples (just one per batch) and I usually add lime. We always cut our juice by water 50% as well.
Some nice combos we have recently enjoyed:
Wheatgrass, celery, green apple, lime
Cucumber, celery, kale and ginger
Celery, cilantro, green apple, lime and ginger
Celery, parsley, green pear, lemon
cucumber, celery, watercress, kale
