Can you share your favorite way to eat strawberries, besides alone & in smoothies? I've been buying them like they're going out of style - I've been waiting sooooo long for them to come in season locally. They're so good!
But I want to get more creative .... any suggestions? Favorite desserts? Recipes?

Ooooh I forgot about her crepes! I've never tried them because when I got her book, they were out of season and I didn't want to use the California non-tasting ones. Woohoo - putting bananas in the dehydrator NOW!

Some of our favorites are strawberry ice cream and/or strawberry (nut)milk shakes.

I just made the Strawberry Shortcake and it is DIVINE! I put a T. more honey in the nut mixture, and omitted the olive oil from the strawberry sauce. It's really rich and my heart is starting to race from eating a few bites already, on an empty stomach. Too much honey (sugar) maybe? It was a hit with my DS who is 4 & a very picky eater. We were eating the dough out of the container - I could easily roll the dough into balls and eat it as is. Or maybe make cookies!
For next time I'm going to 1 1/2 or double the sauce - I like lots of sauce & the nuts soak it up really fast. For nuts I used sunflower seeds, macadamias, and pecans - 1 cup ea, 3/4 cup of pecans. Next time I'll use almonds (I didn't have any) instead of sunflowers - they overpower the other nuts.
Really good though!

Oooh! That's a great idea!
I've put strawberries in tons of different dishes, but my favorite would have to be doused with a nut-based whipped cream (along with maybe blueberries and/or banana), yum!

I love taking mini cup cake tins and filling the moulds with a simple almond crust and filling the centers with strawberry filling. Yum

I just tried Alissa's strawberry crepe recipe and it's just delightful. I'll definitely will be making those banana roll-ups for lots of things. Thanks for the suggestion, Revvell.

You can make the roll ups with other fruit besides banana if you wish. I like to keep my banana consumption for my ice cream.
