Can anyone point me in the direction of some good recipes that don't call for any nuts or dates? It seems like most the recipes I find that look really good are filled with tons of nuts and/or dates, etc. Which is fine but it's overloading my stomach and I need to tone it down a bit!

thanks!!:D

Do you have alissa's book?
It's full of recipes without nuts or dates.

Are you looking for something sweet or savory? What recipes are looking good to you?

For sweet :
-banana papaya pudding
-chocolate coconut milkshakes
-any smoothie recipe
-make a pie filling without the crust! Alissa's blueberry filling is delicious

non-sweet:
Veggie pasta! Any tomato sauce would be your best bet, though you can make nut-free pesto (or might I suggest hemp-seeds) I don't eat nuts, but I love pumpkin and hemp seeds in moderation, they don't trigger binging or aggravate my tum.

Most soup recipes (might i suggest alissa's broccoli soup, minus the almonds)

Many variations on dips - simple guacamole with fresh cut veggies, or rolled into collard wraps

nori rolls
seaweed salad

sunflower seed pate

You can do the crust.
I made the one yesterday that was shown here on a video link that was made from crushed sunflower seeds, chocolate or carob powder, a little agave and some water.
It was very nice and very filling.

oooh thanks everyone!! I do have alissa's book but it seems to me that most of the recipes did contain some nuts... I wonder if I cut them out of the recipe if it would still be the same? maybe if I replaced it with flaxseeds or pumpkin, sunflower, etc? I can't eat hempseeds... they don't digest well with me at all. mainly i'm looking for lunch/dinner ideas...

A no-nut staple in my diet is a sunflower pate. I use a basic recipe from "The Raw Gourmet" and use it plain or add lots of extras when I feel like it.

My version of her recipe is 1 1/2 cups soaked sunflower seeds, 1/2 lemon juiced, a Tlb more or less of Braggs Aminos and a clove of garlic chopped. Wiz them all in a food processor until smooth mostly creamy texture is achieved.

I mostly use this pate to line collard leaves and then add vegetable sticks like cucumber & red pepper and roll them up. I do like it too on salads, just put a big scoop in the middle of your salad creation. A very satisfying pate which can be embellished so many ways.

parsley pate, chunky vegetable pate, spicy pate etc. etc.

Hope this helps.
