People do not realise that what they put on their skin goes into their body.

What's scary is that some of these chemicals are also put into other things that people put in the hair on their face,(makeup), in salad dressing and in sauces and the list goes on and on....

so what was in it that was so deadly bad..? Or don't they know :( , because
the hype of the news is more important than the facts and the consequences
on our behaviour?

After reading "Diet for a New America", my daughter took the time to research all the chemicals, toxins and preservatives that are harmful and frequently found in cosmetics, lotions, hair care, cleaning supplies, etc. She made a list and we keep it on the fridge. It's scary how often you find them in everyday things. We went through the house and tossed everything that had items on the list. We were left with baking soda, vinegar and olive oil.:o We are now "lable readers". It's frustrating that they are worring about raw almonds....

I never really realized that lotions and body sprays really mattered if they weren't "ingested" in the body. But the more I read, the more it makes sense that whatever you rub on your body is going in and can do damage. I now never ever buy beauty products from Bath & Body Works or anywhere that has mostly chemicals in their products. I love Alba Botanica and Origins products. I also love Sweet Almond Oil for moisturizing.

This is an excellent site for checking out the relative toxicity of various brand name toiletry products, and making informed choices:
