We are planning a trip to Disney World in December. Has anyone been there and found places to get green smoothies or other raw food stuffs? Where did you eat?

haha never seen a green smoothie at an amusement parks, but most sell fruit (usually apples, oranges, and I've seen cut up watermelon) You might want to sneak some food in your purse though.

We'll be staying at an on site hotel for a whole week. We are driving there so I can take some stuff with me. I guess that I will do my own hunting and maybe post an article here telling folks where they can get raw foods at Dizzy World. ;)

I had a wonderful 8 day vacation at Disney last year and ate raw through out our stay, but it did take a little planning and meant going off property to the grocery store. I have a portable Tribest blender that packs easily and worth the $50 investment....made green smoothies every morning. Snacks and lunch were easy with fruits, nuts or salads ( I packed a 2 lb bag of raw almonds to take). We ate dinner at a Disney restaurant every evening and each time I got beautiful, large, creative salads. I just told them I only ate fresh fruits and veggies, told them what I didn't like and was always happy with my entree. Plus the fact that it cost about a 1/3 of what my husband's entree cost.

Ahh like what RawChicky said
not much availble, at least to the one I went to. Just take along a blender with you and a big cooler. So can make smoothies in the room. Go online and type in the city find out if there is any HFS in that area or farmer's market.
You'll make it. Also take some dehydrated food as well. Do you have the option of getting a kitchenette type of room?

The room will have a small fridge and a microwave (which is of no use to me) but no kitchen. I always take my blender with me because my husband and I both like smoothies in the morning although he makes his with a protein powder but I am convincing him that green smoothies are great. I had him taste mine the other day and he really liked it and was shocked that it had spinach in it.

I will just load up on bagged spinach and take fresh fruit/frozen bananas. Gotta have frozen bananas. I bet if I look hard enough I can find a place to that makes smoothies and that they will tailor it to my tastes. Most restaurants are pretty accomodating on other meals. I know that the Crystal Palace has a nice buffet with lots of fresh fruit and raw veggies.

Crystal Palace is great. They got raw fruits and veggies.....although I always have a hard time staying raw there. There got such great vegan dishes.

HA! I was planning on posting the same topic. :) We, too, are going to Disney in December, and I was wondering the same thing. I know last time we were there I had a great smoothie from Canada. It was mango. I don't know exactly what was in it, but hopefully they will be able to accomodate me.? Hopefully, we will be able to get some good suggestions.

Cool. Where are you staying. We are staying at the Coronado. I bet that if I can find a place that makes smoothies and I promise to come there everyday that they would make on the way I like it. If they know that you are going to bring them business they will cater to our needs I would think. The greens might be a harder part but some of the bigger hotels have that on hand.

We are going to be there from Nov. 27th to the 4th of Dec.

We don't know exactly where we are staying yet. It may end up offsite. We will be there the second week of December (approximately). Have you made any reservations, yet? If so, I know you can let them know it advance that you have special dietary needs, and they will try to accomdate you. Let me know if you have any luck. :)

Yes, we have reservations but we usually don't eat at the hotel. Too many good restaurants out at the World Showcase in Epcot. I will lyk how we make out and you too. We won't be home before you go though. We stay in FL for two more weeks visiting my dad. He will be 91 Dec. 5!!
