I have a friend who has had a kidney transplant and is interested in going raw. She had asked me about things being unpasturized telling me that her dr said she wasn't allowed to have anything unpasturized. She said she was worried about rejecting her transplant. The only thing I felt comfortable saying so far was that I didn't really know anything about transplants but I had dealt with an autoimmune disorder and according to what "they" say about anything being unpasturized I shouldn't be having anything unpasturized either. If that was the case I should have gotten worse but insted I got better. She sounds like she still wants to try it. she is starting a new job as a nurse working with other transplant patients and would like to basically do the 30 day challange and then get all her bloodwork checked and see what happens. Does anyone have any other advice on what I can tell her?

I also had another friend say that she couldn't have raw food right now because she was pregnant and couldn't have anything unpasturized.

How do you deal with the whole unpasturized scare that is going around? I mean I don't understand how drs can scare everyone so much that they don't want to eat raw fruits and veggies and raw nuts but are fine with eating a big mac still and wash it down with a big tall glass of sugared battery acid. My friend who is pregnant was told by her dr that eating raw nuts was as bad as eating raw meat. OK I need to quit this rant. Still fueled by anger over raw almonds I guess.

I could see not wanting to have unpasteurized milk and such...but fruits and veggies?

In your friend's case, maybe she should consult and MD who specializes in raw food, like Dr. Cousens or someone else who works with an MD supervised program.

I dont know about kidneys, but what do the doctors think that pregnant women did before pasteurization was invented? (Pasteurization was "invented" in the 1860s, but pregnant women has been around a bit longer than that..)

ps. I am not by any means indorcing consumtion of raw meat and dairy...
just thought I might ad..
