Green Smoothies that is..I was wondering if I make a smoothie at night for my breakfast the next day...will it still be good?..and what if I make a large amount of smoothie at a time..and just keep it in the fridge..will they last during the day..or even into the next?..just curious about how long it takes them to go bad..or lose too much nutritional content..

Ahh they'll be okay the next day just shake em up a bit to mix in the brown stuff on top - no worries:D

I believe green smoothies last up to 3 days in the refridgerator.

I have heard that when juicing some things, carrot juice, for example, beyond 24 hours it begins to oxidize and lose nutrients. How far that extends to GS, is only a guess. But a day oughta be okay, IMHO. (which is not worth much!--not low self esteem, I am only regurgitating what I read, not what I KNOW for a fact!)

LMAO!!!

I agree about the juicing. I drink it all the same day if/when I juice. Victoria says it's about the fiber in a blended drink. I still think it's best to drink it same day to get most of the nutrients as they do diminish if there's any air in the bottle.

For my hiking trip I made a smoothie the previous night and froze it. It was okay till the next afternoon.

When I make them the night before I drink them one in the morning is ok, but the one at lunch time starts to go bad. I notice a difference between drinking it immediately and a few hours later.

I think getting all the air out of whatever container you use will go a long way towards helping it keep. When I finish my smoothie the container sits there empty until I can clean it at home and it usually smells something like pickles or vinegar by the time I get home. I think that's because there's lots of air in the container then to fuel the bacteria.
