Hi everyone!

I am torn between the Twin Health juicer and the Greenstar juicer. I have had many juicers-juiceman juicer, and a champion. I recently threw out my champion juicer and would like to get a new one. I heard that twin gear juicers are the best. I really want to get the best juicer.

I have read many mixed reviews about both juicers, if anyone could give me feedback on the twin health or the greenstar or any twin gear juicer...that would be great!

Thanks!
*I would like to spend under $500, but if it's a little over, that's OK.

Had a GreenStar (two, actually), loved it. Now have a Samson, love it because it's lighter and easier to handle. Can't comment on the other. Never even heard of it.

Thanks for the reply! I have a few questions for you. Was there something wrong with your first Greenstar juicer that made you have to buy a new one? Did both of your Greenstar juicers break down so you had to buy a Samson? Also, have you noticed lots of frothiness in your juicers in both brands of juicers? Thanks so much!

Product Description:

The World's Most Advanced Multi-Purpose Living Juice Extractor with Built-In Intelligence. Compare all the features and see the extra value for your health. The quality of this juice extractor becomes obvious the first time it is used. It is probably the most robust juicer in its class and employs sensor technology which automates the reverse gear function and protects against overload, prolonging the life of the motor. The increased choice of juicing screens makes it even more versatile than other twin-gear juicers.

The Twin Health Marathon is the only twin-gear juicer which has all stainless steel gears with no plastic parts. For those seeking the best possible juice from everything this is our first recommendation. The large juicing gears of the Twin Health Marathon are over 14cm long and unlike others they have no plastic parts, being made entirely of surgical-grade stainless steel. The precision engineering involved in manufacturing these gears offers the ultimate in breakdown of fruit and vegetable fibers and delivers the best possible nutrient extraction. These gears rotate at a lower speed than other models, preserving nutrients and producing juices with a longer shelf life.

Twin Gears are solid stainless steel (sus304) with a lifetime warranty. Other brands use a lower strength stainless steel (sus303) and have nylon ends that can break.

Advanced Features

# 500 W & 2/3 HP Powerful Motor allows you to juice strong fibrous, stringy produce quicker and smooth. Automatic power adjustment between 160 w to 500 w.

# 70 - 80 Low RPMs produce very little oxidation, and therefore produce the highest nutrient juice and keep more enzymes intact because of less heat and friction by low turning speed. Twin Health Juicer has the lowest rpm than any other twin gear juicers in the market.

# Solid Stainless Steel Twin Gears High strength solid stainless steel, SUS-304. Other twin gears are made of plastics & stainless steel, breakable. Only Twin Health Juicer provides Lifetime warranty.

Here are specs about the Greenstar Juicer (not sure which model though). If anyone has seen this juicer or have one, please reply! Also, please specify which model is best.

http://www.discountjuicers.com/images/greenstar.jpg

Green Star has exactly the same capability and features as the Green Power and Green Life model, including magnetic and bioceramic technology, but with a stronger, more compact housing. The Green Star juicer is 5 machines in one.

1. Minimizing Loss of Nutrition
Other juicers and blenders with fast rotating blades can destroy a substantial amount of nutrients in fruits and vegetables due to the heat during the operation of the machine. With your Green Star juice extractor, you can minimize the loss of nutrients.
Because Green Star juice extractor has the unique triturating twin gear feature which is an impeller press system, its powerful low r.p.m Turning speed generates virtually no heat to your juice and thoroughly crushes and presses fruits and vegetables, instead of cutting and shredding them into small pieces.

2. Clean and pure juice
It separates pure juice from harmful pesticides and heavy metals which might be present on fruits or vegetables.

3. Capable of juicing leafy vegetables with tough fiber.
Most herbs and leafy vegetables with tough fiber are difficult or nearly impossible to juice with other juicers or blenders. Now from the moment you start using Green Star juice extractor, you can easily juice these including wheat grass.

4. Magnetic and bio-ceramic technology
Green Star uses strong magnets and a bio-ceramic material in its twin-gear system to produce fresher juice which can be stored for a longer period of time: some people report storing the juice for up to 48 hours in the refrigerator because of delayed oxidation.

5. Reduced operational noise
Green Star juice extractor is very quiet when in use.

6. Automatic pulp ejection
The impeller press system of twin gear enables you to enjoy continuous juicing.

7. Easy to clean
You can easily disassemble this machine for cleaning with the brush included in each box.

Powerful triturating action of TWIN GEAR cuts and juices almost all vegetables including carrots, celery, leafy vegetables and wheat grass. The new TWIN GEAR system incorporates magnetic and bio-ceramic technologies which enables juices made in the Green Star to be stored longer, without losing health building benefits. The patented Pocket Recess of the TWIN GEAR easily guides tough, fibrous vegetables and herbs into the juicing area between the two gears. There are three cutting points on the TWIN GEAR, set to cut stringy fibers into small pieces, preventing a machine jam, which often occurs with ordinary dual gear juicers.

The Green Star juice extractor, with its uniquely engineered design has been assembled using the highest quality materials and workmanship for your maximum health and juicing pleasure.

If anyone could vouch for or against these specs/claims, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I have a few questions for you. Was there something wrong with your first Greenstar juicer that made you have to buy a new one?

No, actually, I'd stopped juicing so decided to sell it. It was the Green Life. Someone gave me a Green Power (they're all made by the same company... just older versions) and sold that too. When Bo and I were at a trade show, I saw the Samson. After using the Samson, I was sorry I didn't keep my Green Life. Now I'm use to the Samson and like it better.

Did both of your Greenstar juicers break down so you had to buy a Samson?

Neither did. Had no problems with them at all.

Also, have you noticed lots of frothiness in your juicers in both brands of juicers? Thanks so much!

Nope! They run at a slow speed (compared to the Champion) and don't heat up the juice. Great for greens including wheatgrass (so fun to watch them get sucked in).

How long does it take to juice 32 oz of green juice approximately? Do you store your juices or do you drink them immediately? Thanks so much!

I have personally never juiced that much green juice at one time. It should be drunk immediately after juicing as it oxidizes VERY quickly.

www.discountjuicers.com has some good comparisons. They also tell a bit about the value of each. Champion does fruits (citrus, etc) better than GreenStar (the best of the Greens). It doesn't juice greens (lower case g . . .) as well as Greens (upper case . . .) does.

I was researching Green Star, but finally decided against it for one reason, it has built in magnets, which change juice composition(and I believe enzymes as well), that the juice stays longer fresh. That doesn't look like a good thing for me. If bacteria does not want it, I rather pass it. For now I just have Champion(I bought it used for 50 on craigslist) - it works great, but I can't put too much leafy greens- I always have to alternate them with carrots or celery.
I was thinking about Solostar II. It juices greens. It also has manual attachment which I would like to get.Has anyone tried it?

Hi all. escucharla - did you decide on one and how goes it?

Revvell - if I could ask did you find a difference in taste, quality, or wetter/drier pulp between the GreenStars and the Solostar?

I'm basically down to the same choices, but would lean towards the Solostar II - for easier clean-up? - if the juice quality is similar.

Are the GSs as much of a pain to clean as some say?

I'll mostly be juicing carrots, and more veges later. No fruits. Thank you
