We're going to be biking in door county next week. Are there any RAW restaurants there? Door County is charming--considered to be the Cape Cod of the midwest -- lots of charming little shops, etc. And it's lots cooler there thn here in sticky hoot mid Missouri! :p

Sorry but as far as I know of there are no raw restaurants ANYWHERE in Wisconsin. Chicago is the closest bet for raw restaurants. There are several very vegan (but cooked) friendly restaurants here in Milwaukee though. And the local co-op make some raw smoothies and wheatgrass.

Hey, Blazin Jane, you may already be home from your vacation, but there is a raw deli in menomonie, wi called "the Raw Deal". About 4 3/4 hours from Door County on your way to Minneapolis. Haven't been there to eat, but went to school there in the 80's. Of course, no raw food there back then! But I think it's been discussed here before...will see if I can get anything with the Search option. Here's the address...
Raw Deal, a raw-food deli
544 Broadway South
Menomonie, WI 54751

Ahhh...here it is... http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=23189&highlight=Menomonie (sorry, don't know how to make the link shorter/prettier!)
Maybe you can hit it on your way home??? Then skip over to Ecopolitan in Minneapolis!
Hope you enjoyed Door County...I made it to Green Bay to watch a GB Packers game 2 years ago, but didn't make it up to Door, maybe next time!
Heard it's really fun and "quaint"? I lurve the WI countryside ...

RJL~ thanks for the heads up on that restaurant in Green Bay... next time! And yeah, Go Packers!!! I grew up in Wisconsin, then moved to Mini-soda, but once a Packers' fan, always a Packers' fan. Got lots of ribbing, especially since they were so bad at the time. It was great to see them play and my dad was just like a little kid in a candy store with all the Packer fans to talk to:D . That was the best part. Brett even waved at me.....well....errrr.... there was a large crowd hangin out after the game, but he did look my way when he was waving ;) :D Are you a Packer fan in Lion's territory??!!! That's probably just as hard as being a Packer fan in Mini-soda! Well...enuff Packer talk... Go Raw Food  !

Thanks for the input. We are, in fact, back from our biking week in Door County. It was a wonderful week with, alas, no raw restaurants. However, Egg harbor has a new little natural foods store that can sure use some business. It's Greens and Grains, right on the main drag going through town. I got some almond butter there and som e fresh produce. It's a nice little place and the women running it are very helpful.
The next time we head up that way, I'll try to route us through Menominie!
