I just bought manna bread. It is delicious but I am worried it is not technically raw. It says that it is baked at low temps to preserve the enzymes but no where on the package does it give a number or say raw food. It is produced by Sun Foods ( I think that is the name of Davids Wolfe's company) so I believe the bread to be raw, but if anyone knows for sure I would like to hear. I have been 100% raw for 37 days and love it so I do not want any cooked food, especially not bread.

i don't think it is considered raw.
Maybe someone here could help us with a recipe for homemade manna bread:)

Nope. Not raw. The bread is heated in an environment that is greater than 118 degrees F. The hard outer 'shell' is definately not raw, but some have suggested that the inner moist portion does not exceed 118 degrees during the baking process.

Do we know this for sure or is this speculation based on the "hard outer shell?" I'm just curious. I have not found any information regarding the temperature used in preparation of the bread.

Alissa has a recipe in her book that is to mimic Manna bread.
Juliano also has a recipe in book: the UnCook Book, or something along those lines, for Essence bread with is sweet bread like manna bread.
I do love me some bread!

contact the company and ask them. If they are worth their salt--err, celtic sea salt, then they should answer.

Victoria Boutanko looked into it and it is raw but she said she still would not trust it enough, your better off doing your own baking if your worried.
They recommend it in the book Rawfood real world - but they also drink wine and use maple syrup soooo, its up to what you are Technical about- every little thing or not ?

I contacted the company directly and asked and it is definately cooked above 118 degrees. I think they told me they cook it at 230 degrees.
