What is the best way to juice a lemon?

What is the best way to pit olives when making a recipe?

Lemons? Cheap way - cut them in half, use a fork and twist and turn the fork in the cut lemon. A little more $$$$? Get a reamer. I love mine. Any kitchen store should have them. Either way, do this procedure over top of a strainer. I made Maraw's lemon chews and took some up to my Mom (bless her heart) and they were loaded with seeds. We just chomped away.

Olives? Before I invested in a cherry (olive) pitter, I would cut the stones out. Too tedious...

I use a reamer unless I am juicing a bunch.
In that case, I went to Goodwill and bought a little electric juicer for $3.

I just take the pits out of olives with my fingers.

I love my reamer for my lemons and limes. On olives, I cheat. I buy pitted kalamata olives. I also find it too tedious to pit individually, although I still do if I have to because I'm too poor....:(

Hey, if you got a good juicer like a Champion, try putting the whole cut-up lemon, peel and all, through. Talk about a great ziny addition to a juice drink.

Just make sure the lemon is organic. If not the outside is coated with GUNK, like wax and preservatives and crap.

I put my juicer away. I thought lemon skin was poisonous. I just bought a citrus juicer & reamer. I left the space from the juicer to use for ingredients to make shakes & cake on the counter top.

Thanks!
