Ok, I met an old friend for lunch today, she eats SAD, so we went to a restaurant and I decided I would get a veggie wrap. I asked the server if the vegs were raw & he told me they were, but when the food finally got to our table the vegetables were all grilled, but we had so little time to eat and we were so hungry, I ate it anyway, even the wrap part (which I wasn't going to eat). By the time I got back to my office, I totally had no energy, felt like I was gonna fall asleep, lethargic, etc. What a difference eating a cooked meal had on me. I had been doing so well and feeling so energetic until I ate that. So, after feeling so crappy from that, I've decided to stick to raw no matter what from now on. Now if I can just make servers understand RAW food means NOT COOKED!!

GG - I think you answered your own question. It was there, you were there, there was no time. No biggie. One slip up to learn how it made you feel sometimes is worth it. Next time, take the time to tell the server, no, they aren't raw, and don't eat it.
We learn by our mistakes. It's no biggie...really...or maybe you wanted to hear me say,

"YOU DID WHAT????"
I've never yelled at anyone on this forum. And I'm not yelling at you, just messin' with you! LOL!

Hi GG! A menu can be changed. Next time you know that raw can mean fresh. You would need to explain, you dont want it cooked.

Also another way I learned from others is to call ahead if you need to.
You can always bring avocado and/or olives with you. Most places have lemon and olive oil.

Enjoy!

Its all a learning process. Eating out is always a process for me but it gets easier over time.

. Most places have lemon and olive oil.

Enjoy!

And make sure the olive oil is actually extra virgin olive oil and not green colored canola. My stomach knows the difference.

I read some where here; that they printed up a small card that explained what raw was and gave it to the wait staff at restaurants. I cannot recall where I say that??
