I'm not sure which category to put this post in so I hope this works ok.
In every "diet" I've ever tried there are specific requirements for the quanity of water to drink each day although even with searching I haven't been able to find that here. Do those huge quanities not apply because there is so much natural water in the foods we are eating?
In truth, I haven't drank or wanted anything else but water in the last 4 days. (breakfast smoothie not included) Yay 4 days raw!!! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something important.
Also, there are soooo many types of H2O available which is the best? I currently have a PUR filter on my tap but I don't think that removes flouride. What are all of you using?
Thanks! :D

Hey Mom0f3,
Yes, I've read before that when you eat raw and you're eating an abudance of fresh fruit, you're getting an ample supply of the BEST distilled water in the fruit. But if your body is asking for it, oblige :D
Water is all we drink in our house (besides freshly made juices and smoothies) as I stopped buying bottled juices and sodas a long time ago.
But I notice that most times I don't even feel thirsty enough to drink a lot of water and I believe it's due to the fruit...but there are times when I do want water.
I use the PUR filter as well, but we're gonna look into a distiller later after our move as I know PUR isn't the best we can do. I keep reading about different types of water and why one is better than the other, so I would rather just not even get into that whole thing...long as it isn't tap, I'm good as tap water even TASTES awful to me now.

attended a conference in L.A. where that question was brought up and a few things were mentioned.
1) the water we get from the raw diet may not be enough for us "especially" if one is doing lots of dehydrated or dried fruits and recipes, etc. I occasionally drink a bit of water yet, not much.
2) as far as type of water ~ distilled was brought up and the consensus was that it's not good for one as it takes out the natural minerals in the body so the body is depleted of minerals. On the other hand, I have read (from folk selling distillers) that the minerals in water are unusable by the body. The gent who introduced me to raw foods had a distiller for awhile. He finally got tired of cleaning it.
People did ask what bottled waters were best. There was no consensus on that although most did say, they varied what they drank. One day, one kind, another day, another. There, they gave up whatever was offered and drank Penta.
For myself, we have a purifier from a large well-known company. We've not tested the water though ~ for what's being taken out.
Personally, when that becomes a bigger priority for us, we'll be getting reverse-osmosis.
Injoy ~

Those huge quantities sure would apply to ME as I've often drunk at least 3 quarts of filtered water daily, often even when I was doing a fruit & fruit juice day. But then, I've had chronic sinus infections for years, so I'm guessing that my body just needs all that water to work out the toxins from my sinuses and other areas. I've certainly had evidence the last few days that something very nasty is working out of my sinuses. But the upside is that I've gotten most of my sense of smell back! And even with all the current hassle, I can STILL smell things. :::::does happy-cheery dance::::::
I've read quite a bit of what little research there is on eating raw and on various aspects of it such as what kind of water is best. The definitive answer on most such seems to be, "Who knows? Try a few things and see what makes you feel the best. Your bod will tell you what it wants if you'll only shut up and quit trying to impose what you've been brainwashed into believing is best for it."
Glowing good health to you and yours,
Dot
