I'm having fun trying recipes but encountering some challenges here. What's really going on is that I'm not ready to let go of baked goods..... First, I burnt out my coffee grinder grinding dehydrated sprouted wheat berries to make flour for cinnamon rolls. They were pretty hard. What would you do? do I need to break down and buy a grain grinder attachment for my Champion? There's such a thing right?
And just now I had fresh sprouted wheat berries and was putting small handfuls at a time through my Champion juicer with the blank plate. The old workhorse was having a hard time and kept clicking and stalling and surging, I don't know how to describe it. I when I checked the poop-like dough shooting out, it was hot! So much for any enzyme activity there! So I did the rest in my Cuisanart and the texture seemed not as homogenized. I'm trying to make Sleek's tortilla recipe with those.
Any feedback appreciated. I'm non-cooking up a storm.

It sounds painful! I am over trying to make recipes for the time being. Other than the spinach dip I have not found anything else I like. I think it is the nut recipes that I do not care for. I might try some of the soups when I get over my fear of un-cooking!

Yeah, that dough is like cement all over my kitchen. I'm lucky my cat didn't get into it. She'd be a permanent fixture on the table.

Yes, my Champion didn't like the wheat berries either. I had to put them in sooo slowly with a little water so it wouldn't bog down and heat the dough. The dehydrated dough made good bread, which I liked to well. I would be in the kitchen the rest of my life keeping myself supplied. So I tried a large hand crank meat grinder that worked much faster and did fine. I have always been a bread eater. But I guess I'm just to lazy any more. Now I just toss something into the blinder or food processor. It's ready in minutes.
