Consider taking a live yoga class.

I'm a yoga teacher and always recommend taking a few classes with a certified teacher, one who actually walks around the class and makes alignment adjustments, before starting any home program. Or if you have already done that, to be sure and check in with a teacher every once in awhile. I would recommend any of Kripalu's intermediate dvd's, Wai Lana yoga, Patricia Walden. Again, it's always good to start with a beginner, moderate tape to learn the alignment in poses. Have fun....and breathe:)

I agree with Raw Mom. I used to teach yoga, and take tons of classes too, and there's a risk for injury if you go straight to a tape, especially if you're doing power yoga moves. If you're an experienced yoga practitioner, though, Rodney Yee's Power Yoga DVDs are great. Baron's stuff is good too (I used to volunteer at his studio), but the tapes are no sub for being in the class where it's over 90 degrees. :)

For me, there is no yoga that comes close to the fitness and toning benefits of Bikram Yoga. You could see if they have a class close to you on www.bikramyoga.com if you like. When I do it, you can bounce a quarter off my 'you know what'.

I second the Shiva Rea recommendation...she's got a wonderful dance-like style of yoga and *amazing* music in the background.

Yoga for Beauty by Rainbeau Mars is also good...and very do-able. Plus she's raw! :)

yea, for workout music, you basically need hard-hitting euro-dance music.... nothing else does the job

really. Search around on iTunes for "euro club hits" or check this link:

I just ordered dvds called "yogilates". Haven't tried them yet, but the instructor looks AMAZING.

I've been doing vinyasa classes 2-3 times a week for about 10 weeks, not even raw, but vegan. I do them at a studio near my house.

In the 23+ years I've worked out with free weights and cardio, I NEVER got results in toning, full body alignment, fat loss, calming and centering mentally that I have doing this yoga the last few months.

I really like the vinyasa flow because it's physically challenging enough to get AMAZING body shaping and core strenghtening results, in only 2 or 3 classes a week!, but also they heat the room so I POUR sweat and feel so detoxed after class as well.

This yoga is the best exercise I've ever done. I'll never give it up!
