What are the nutrient calculators people know of. I would like to find one that gives the %RDA's for just about every conceivable nutrient for as many foods as possible. I'm aware of fitday and the USDA database. The USDA database doesn't have any percentages though so I don't like that one.

I have no clue. I don't bother with worrying about my "recommended daily allowance". I don't trust what someone recommends (that someone being a government organization -sorry, but that's how I feel). I know what I am eating. I know that I am healing and healthy. I don't need to worry about calories, carbs, nutrient content, etc. Whole, fresh living foods come complete with so much that even the RDA doesn't know ALL that they possess. That's the fun part about being raw. If you are consuming enough greens, sprouts, nuts, and fruits there isn't a need to concern yourself with this other information. I prefer to use that energy either reading more about the benefits of raw or for working out.

I second that! What I am learning every single day is just how "freeing" this lifestyle is. I no longer fixate on ANY of that . If you eat closest to nature, nature takes care of you and your needs are met.simple, easy:D

I know this isn't what you're asking for and it's fine with me if that's how you wish to spend your time but, can't help you. Never cared before, care even less now.

Hoping someone responds as you wish.

I think a good question to those changing to raw who used to eat SAD is, did you track nutrients that closely when you ate SAD? How do you think you measured up then?

From my experience closely tracking nutrients, I found the only way to balance out nutrients is to eat a LOT of different stuff, so having a diverse diet of many things. Once I got used to doing that, it didn't seem that important to spend so much time tracking everything anymore, because it was a well balanced diet. Does thi mean don't track nutrients? Heck no, go ahead and track them. I think it is a lot easier to simply get a large variety of different fruits, vegetables and greens, and make sure you get a good balance of fatty acids from including the kinds of foods that have these. If you are uncomfortable doing this at first, toss in some vitamins for the nutrients you are most concerned with, but be careful not to take the supplements with 25,000,000,000% of the RDA, but unfortunately, most vitamins come that way so it is not easy to supplement either.

I don't intend to track this sort of thing every day. But I think it would be interesting to look the food log down the road sometime and see how some days compared.

You might try "nutridairy". You can find it in google.

I agree that it would be interesting but I have not done it because I imagine that you would have to weigh everything if you want it to be accurate.
How much kale is in a bunch and how much spinach is in a handfull and there is a big differance in the size of bananas.
I would love it if someone woud give me the figure at the end of the day for a couple of weeks but I am too lazy to put in the effort.

which is not complete and not the best possible.
I also agree with the comments below. All the rda's are for SAD-people.
But it is nice to know what is in your food.
