Do you grind your cacao powder or mortar with pestle?
I used the vitamix, and it doesnt grind well. Did anyone use the small container to grind cacao nibs?

I buy it already ground into powder. I have the nibs too I use for other things or just eat. I wasn't able to get them as smooth & fine as the powder.

I just found my small plastic grinder for vitamix. I will give it a try.

I buy it from Alissa already ground. The nibs? I grind in my coffee grinder.
Ditto what RawVeganMom said. I use the powder for somethings and the nibs for others. If I want something that will be smooth, like a smoothie I use the powder and if I want chips for cookies I use the nibs. I tried grinding the nibs or even the beans in my coffee grinder but it never gets anywhere as smooth and silky as the fine powder I buy.

I bought 2 bags of nibs about a year ago and I still have them as I can not come up with any use for them but I hate to trow food out.
All attempts to grind them enough to make them palatable have failed.
I use the powder instead.

I've bought Alissa's carob powder, and when I try to make things like "Easter Chocolate", it comes out "grainy". Is the cacao powder smoother in "chocolate" recipes?? Still looking for that chocolatey smooth chocolate fix.

Well my grinder isnt a grinder. It is a storage container. LOL!
For nibs, you can use them like chocolate chips or truffles. If you have a grinder, make them into powder for ice cream & cakes.
Enjoy!:D

Actually they are not even out of date. I checked and it says Nov 07.
If you check my location you will realise that it would cost me far more to mail them than they are worth.
I mailed some stuff to the US yesterday as a birthday gift that cost me about $10 to buy and it cost me $22 to mail it.

I tried to grind nibs once but they turned into goo not powder. Clogged up my nut grinder.
Cacao powder is very smooth. Delish!
As for nibs. I like them alone, with dried fruit, and as a dip for my dates. That's probably a little over the top but it keeps me off the candy bars:)
