I posted this in another thread but thought I would also make new thread.

I've done a 28 day fast before and can't understand why I am finding it so difficult this time. Is there anyone out there who's willing to make this a challenge where there is a financial penalty of $100. I need the added pressure. I want to start ASAP, this Thursday at the latest. If someone is interested then email me at alyceaka@hotmail.com. I will then email you with the details and you can decide if you really want to do the challenge or not.

Only serious individuals who know for sure that they can go the distance and is ready to do so. I know we all feel that way when we start (including me) but I guess what I am trying to say is I'm looking for someone who will almost cut off their arm before giving in to food. You are allowed to make up your own fasting guidelines as long as you put them in writing, is an honest person, preferably have done a long fast before, and has a competitive nature.

I just need a serious motivator as I already know that I can do this and that I have the determination but now I need an extra motivator and repercussions.

I will email back later tonight if I don't see responses immediately because I will be away from the computer in about 20 minutes from now.

maybe because it isnt what your body truly needs right now

be careful with mental limitations when approaching a lifestyle like this..they can be just as unhealthy as SAD

hope you find peace of mind soon..wherever it lies

Thanks eatyourbroccoli but it is definitely what the doctor order. I should say that I don't mean that literally but that's my way of saying "I definitely know my body".

Star, I had the same problem. My mother and I always fasted together, so I was no new comer. For some reason I found it impossible to fast after I got married. It became even worse after the birth of my son, because I had to cook for him, which made it challenging when I was trying to fast.

If you're not ready, I doubt any amount of money will work. I tried all sorts of bets and challenges when I was trying to lose the "baby weight." I finally realized that the only person who could challenge me, was residing beneath the rubble.

Here's what I'll do. Send me the $100. If you make it, you get it back. If you don't, I'll keep it. 'k?

Why do I need to fast to hold you accountable?

I really dont think money is the right way to "stay" on track; If you want to be and stay raw you need to get that straight in your head first,Then the body should follow.
i think with your advertise to give away money you may get some not so honest people, who may or may not post here.
If I was a spammer you would be my target!
Why not take the money and do a phone session w/Alissa?

It seems to me that are couple reasons as to why there are those that have a hard time fasting again........

1. If the intial fast was done incorrectly or followed by food abuse etc, then the body has some depletion that cannot handle the "idea" or physical state of fasting. There may be those individuals that need to build themselves back up before fasting again.

2. INTENSION this is probably the MOST common. Often times more so than not, alot of us have intensions of using the fasting as the tool to get us "back on track," to help us lose weight,to cure us from that pervailing symptoms......., if we let FASTING simply be what it is, a time to rest away from the daily life of food, people and places to center ourselves, FASTING truly is simple to do..............everything else happens anyways, like weightloss, lessening of symptoms etc. Fasting, IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Star in the most respect,,,,,,,

, I have to ask like Revvell did, why would the recipient need to fast as well?

Are you afraid if you don't fast, you will unsuccessful in your raw goals? health goals?

Why is there such a anxiousness to do this NOW and have to have it done as if you are in some kind of race for yourself?

What happened after that last fasting that we did ( I recall you in one of the fastings we did)?

;)

Hey Webby,

I guess it just goes to show that we really are all different. I did a $100 challenge when I did the 28 days but I can't say it was what kept me going but the committment to other person sure played a part in it. But thanks for the input.

Revvell, you really don't need to do anything that you don't want to do. That's the beauty of making your own choices. No need to get cute with me because I don't know you and obviously from your post, I can really care less what you think.

Razza, I was not emailing for spam advice but challengers instead. If you're not interested then no need for a comment. No, I don't want to be and stay raw, I want to be and stay healthy.

If I was willing to put up $100 then obviously I was prepared to lose it to someone dishonest but I just don't think a scammer can email me for 40 days about a subject that I am well knowledged in and I not pick up on the clues. I listen to enough Dave Ramsey, Clark Howard, etc so I am well informed about scammers.

I have no desire to do a phone session with Alissa. No disrespect to Alissa it's just not my cup of tea. I'm really not trying to be rude I am simply trying to let you and the rest know that I know exactly what I want to do and that I wasn't seeking advice about scammers, phone sessions, etc... but only looking for a challenger which I've enjoyed the competiton in the past. Perhaps this was not the right site for that competitor spirit but that does not bother me. I am on my 2nd day of fasting and I will keep going forward with my plan. I am capable of doing it with or without a challenger.

Now to misslinda and hopefully this is the last one. The short answer is "if only you had a clue" but because you do not know a thing about me of course you don't have a clue; hence, the many questions. But I will only say that I know exactly what my body needs as I have been living in it for over 30 years and I've probably read more on fasting that you will read in your life time. So, just take my word when I say that things with me are fine. The last fast was beneficial and this will be even more beneficial.

If you people would stop trying to play psychiatrist to those who are not seeking it then these types of emails would not be necessary.

With all of that said, I look forward to sharing my wonderful fasting experience as I go on this journey. Good luck to all of you.

I have to end with this comment "Who would have thought that my desire to create a challenge for fun and get a little competition going would rub you people the wrong way"? Geez--it is not that serious, at least not for me. Always remember this, when someone poses a question to you, you always have the option to "just say no" or in this case, nothing.

First of all, it's an open forum. You put out something, you're going to get responses. They may not be what you want yet, people are taking the time to respond as they will ~ their choice.. yours to receive in kind ~ or not.

Mine was a sincere offer. You chose not to see it that way. Your choice.

Linda was attempting to get to know you. Instead of sharing with her ~ an experienced faster and one of the most respected and knowledgeable people here... you dismissed her. Fine.

Question still out there? Why does the other person have to fast? What it seemed you were asking was for someone to hold you accountable. I offered. You declined ~ rudely. Fine.

You say "it's not that serious" yet, you've taken EVERY comment someone has made ~ seriously and responded in that manner. Your choice as well. I just really don't think what you're doing is going to get you what you want.

I wish you well.

Revvell, I've said what I had to say and I think we should all just let this thread kindly float to the bottom.
