I found an awesome replacement! If you live by a Whole Foods, their naturally flavoured mineral waters are awesome (and not that expensive.) I am obsessed with the Lemon Raspberry one - it tastes exactly like Kool Aid. This would be a spectacular drink to give kids too!
I also use mint and agave in plain mineral water for faux mojitos, but, this is a great premade choice.
Hope this helps anyone who loves having something flavoured to sip on always on hand :D
Oh yeah, ingredients: Sparkling mineral water, natural lemon and raspberry flavours.

Sorry, what is a mojito?

That sounds so good Naiad. I really like adding sparkling water to herbal teas with a little agave nectar. It's a great treat every now and then.

My question would be - how do they get the "natural flavor" out of fruit without the juice? Sounds processed/artificial.

Definitely better than drinking a nice cold glass of soda. If the ingredients don't list it as containing a percentage of sugar it would seem ok to me unless they're lying. Although I still don't understand what they mean when they do say "natural flavor" and that's on a lot of products, including organic. Hmmm, maybe it alludes to the fact that they may be putting artificial ingredients in it?

A "regular mojito" is:
3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda
In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lime slice and the remaining mint, and serve.
You can flavor it with fresh raspberries, mangoes, peaches, OR strawberries as well.
I will have to try Naiad's suggestion for the faux mojitos...maybe this is something she needs to submit to Alissa's next recipe book!!! :p

I can't take the credit, I got the initial idea from the Raw Food/Real World cocktail section :D
In fact, I'm off to the store to find organic sake (which Sarma suggests instead of rum) to make them for a party this weekend.
I went to Pure Food recently and brought a new friend with me. We had a lovely dinner and felt so amazing and light. Then he had to coerce me into getting a drink at the venue we saw a band play at
He even said, "Man, I don't feel as good as I did before." I told him I'd make him a "raw approved" drink. I drink alchohol about once every 3-4 months, let's see how my foray goes! ;)
