Try to include a green juice daily.
I do cucumber, celery and green leaves.

Nothing wrong with just taking water if you can handle water fasting but sounds like you are attempting a combination---perferably raw juices not processed ones from the store. If you have blood sugar issues, try low glycemic fruits with partial green juices.
Highly desireable to strain and dillute the juices.
Good Luck.

I need to start again, too. June 1st at the latest, hopefully sooner.... Ugh!
I've done 28 days before and can't understand why I am finding it so difficult this time. Is there anyone out there who's willing to make this a challenge where there is a financial penalty of $100. I need the added pressure. I want to start ASAP with the latest being this Thursday. If someone is interested then email me at alyceaka@hotmail.com. I will then email you with the details and you can decide if you really want to do the challenge or not.
Only serious individuals who know for sure that they can go the distance and is ready to do so. I know we all feel that way when we start (including me) but I guess what I am trying to say is I'm looking for someone who will almost cut off their arm before giving in to food. You are allowed to make up your own fasting guidelines as long as you put them in writing, is an honest person, preferably have done a long fast before, and has a competitive nature.
I just need a serious motivator as I already know that I can do this and that I have the determination but now I need an extra motivator and repercussions.

Hi Star,
I know if I'm emotionally and physically not ready for a fast, it's extremely difficult, but if I'm in a good place all is well. This is just my experience.
If I could give a small word of advice, I think it might help not to have the burden of lost money as a motivator. This may produce stress and stress actually halts the detoxing process. Have you thought of doing a day on and a day off of fasting as this can be just as beneficial in the long run if a lengthy fast is something you're having troubles with?
This is in no way an attempt to disuade you from being proactive with regards to your own personal detoxing goals, but sometimes we put demands on ourselves in order to get results (so been there) and they promote habits that only hurt us emotionally in the end.
This is only said out of concern. I truly mean no disrespect, and I wish you the best as you continue on your fasting/raw/etc. journey.
Peace,
Wendy
Hi Gwena,
I am always open to advice and I appreciate your input.
Thank goodness I've had much experience with fasting and if I'm honest with myself I can actually pinpoint my main problem. Each time that I have failed it has been because I am not drinking the juice and I allow myself to get so hungry that anything will do. However, I spent a lot of time last night assessing my journey and what it will take to get me there as well as what I am want to achieve. The alternative is simply not an option so with or without any challengers, I have begun as of waking up this morning. This is a necessity for me for so, so many reasons.
Actually, reading a little of your blog has inspired me. I love what you said about making it your own and doing what's right for you (of course I paraphrased but that hit home for me).
Take care and thanks again.

Hey Star,
Congrats on beginning today! :D
Sounds like you know what's best for you as you are a fasting veteran.:p
I can totally understand about not drinking enough juice. The story of my life right now!
I'm passing on good fasting vibes to you. Wishing you all the best and look forward to hearing about your progress!!!:D
Wendy
Thanks Wendy. I caught every vibe and am holding tight:D.
Hi Gwena,
I decided to read some more of your blog and I think I see exactly what you were trying to say about my proposing a challenge. However, even before I read it I had consciously decided that I didn't need to make a challege out of it.
At any rate, what I really want to say is that I definitely have this all or nothing attitude that I have been working on lately. I am that way about a lot of things and I've recently decided that it's not so healthy when it comes to some things in my life. Although I am still just as a committed to my fast, I do think I will approach it a little diffently, at least from an attitude perspective.

FYI: enzymes (lifeforce of food/juice) have approx. 10-15 minute life span once you have juiced due to the extraction process and exposure to sun/light. So keep that in mind when you juice.
In terms nutritional content (vitamins/minerals) varies based on your juicer. Exposure does damage some vitamins/minerals. On average you can store up to 48 hours in your refrigerator with the assistance of perserving it thru lemon juice and raw honey. I'd steer away from freezing. The freezing temp is not healthy for the stomach/fasting state (blood flow). Although freezing can lock in the content of the juice better.....perferrable drink at room temp.
Ultimatley, fresh juicing is more desireable, if you can

Hey Star,
Yeah, my ego has gotten a nice beating while being on this juice feast, which I'm grateful for. The all or nothing thingy can be brutal. Glad my experience can help a tad.
Can't wait to read about your experience!!:D
Happy fasting. :p
