Which dates are the best?

Okay, I'm a new raw foodie and I'm about to order dates online. They have three in stock, Deglet Noor, Derrie, and Zahidi. I have no idea which are which or what to get. I've only had sunbeam dates (not raw) and looking at a picture I think they were Deglet Noors or Derries. They were good.

Any suggestions?

P.P.S. Also looking at Mission Black Figs, what are they? Are they good?

There a whole bunch of info on here about dates. Most folks seem to like medjool - they are big and sweet, but there isn't a date I haven't met that I haven't liked. I'd say do a search and see. There's even a link (I'll see if I can find that posting) that shows all the various dates.
Figs are seedy fruits. I love 'em. They are crunchy full of small (edible) seeds.
$6 a pound's not too shabby.
www.datepeople.net will have dates back in the fall. Meanwhile checkout veganman's farm for dates (again, I'll see if I can find that link).
