I need to prepare my food a few days ahead of time..for convienence and so I'll stay Raw....so when I get my salad ingredients my plan is to cut up everything ahead of time..I already have glass containers for this..but I was wondering if there is any way to make sure that the cut up veggies will last at least 3-4 days?...like when u put lemon juice on cut fruit to make it last longer...thanx for everyone's ideas...also I usually use the mixed greens for the lettuce part..and was wondering if I also keep that in a bowl instead of the bag...will it stay ok?..or should I keep it soaked in water or something?....

At Whole Foods, I buy these green plastic type bags that keep food/produce fresher longer.... they come in packs ... sold near the produce... definitely extend the life of veggies!

If you could invest the money, a Food Saver is incredible for preserving food. It vacuums out the air inside of the special container and food lasts ridiculously long. I just can't figure out what's left if you vacuum out the air!

Unfortunately I can't afford the FoodSaver...and I have some of those bags..but I'm talking about already having cut up the veggies so everyday I can just toss them in the salad instead of having to cut them every day...any suggestions for already cut veggies..for keeping them fresh longer?

I LOVE plastic containers called "Lock 'n' Lock" I order them from QVC. I cut everything up and and go in and out for a week. I have a Juice container that KEEPS my Smoothies without getting slimmy. They have a "seal" that doesn't let the air in...and they LOCk' Lock..
