I'm having a rough time, folks, and I'm looking for some help!

Last weekend, my youngest son and I got the stomach flu. Because of nausea and diarrhea, I didn't eat for three days. I had a couple of decent days mid-week where I could eat a little food, but everything still makes me sick to my stomach. This past Thursday night, my diarrhea returned. Friday, I tried to eat very light, but everything I put in my stomach made me nauseous. Same for yesterday.

Today, I had a few sips of my berry smoothie and couldn't handle any more. I waited a few hours, and tried to have a little avocado with some quinoa tabouli I made, but only got past a few bites. Now, I'm trying to eat a banana, but it tastes so sweet it's hard to eat. I'm sort of hungry, but it's like the flavors are too intense for me to handle. I'm going to try to take some more probiotics and see if that helps.

I've already dropped 3 1/2 pounds this week from not being able to eat. My husband is now bugging me to abandon this "diet" and have some "real food." Frankly, I can't figure out why I haven't bounced back from this flu. I'm starting to get concerned that I've picked up something really weird, like a parasite or something.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if I should do some type of cleanse or juice fast since food is nauseating to me right now.

I'd really appreciate some help... if I don't feel better by Monday, I guess I'll have to go in to the doctor, but I was hoping to get better on my own.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me... I'm really frustrated at this point!

Are you sure it is a stomach flu and not food poisoning? Sounds like what I had a long time ago. Didn't eat for almost two weeks. Lost 15 pounds.....
Stay hydrated and if you need to see a dr. then most certainly do that.

You may be detoxing... don't give up. We all need to clear the poison from out souls and bodies. Be patient... you've just begun again. That is to be respected.. You can do it. Just be gentle with yer self, and let it flow out.. it will pass. It dddoes for me i have been high raw for 8 months, and I still detox the layers/ memories of fat sometimes.

Drink plenty of oure water.

I like banana, tahini and water shakes. They helped me. We did not put the weight on in 3 days, so it is unrealistic to except it to just diappear over nighhht... thou raw and an excercise programs/ support will power is a major key.

best wishes, You can do it>

If you are feeling naseau and have symptoms of the "stomach flu," do very simple approaches. Why do you feel you have to eat tabouli and complicated foods when you are at a deep level of healing? Suppressing symptoms will never allow you to heal~

Try drinking a little ginger lemon water with just a touch of honey to help the naseauated feeling. Ginger will at least assist the neasu and acts as a tonic to the liver especially during these intense times of detoxifying. Lemon juice acts as a astringent, anti viral and bacterial.

Your body is giving you a clear indication that it doesn't want to digest food b/c it is working hard to purge [crap] out of you system whether it be toxins or a virus that needs to worked out. Stay hydrated, rest and if you plan to take anything, try some probiotics to restora the flora since you've had bouts of diarreah.

Whatever you do, don't try to eat until you get the appetite cue to eat.

Stay hydrated,
;)

There's a saying: The mind's solution to the problem is the problem itself. There is no such thing as a "stomach flu". Who told you that's what that was?

When something is in one's system and it needs to be eliminated, the body will do so. Your "remedy" it seems is to do a cleanse. Umm, you're nauseous and have diarrhea (it's not YOUR diarrhea, it's just diarrea). Stop trying to feed it. Get in touch with your body and as some are saying, lots of water. I'll add warm water. Stay hydrated and allow your stomach to empty.

IF you feel the need to stop it, get some unfiltered apple juice, add some liquid acidolphilous. Drink that. Two times should do the trick. Being it's a holiday and hfs's are probably closed, find some plain yogurt (I know, I know, but, that, or drugs from a doctor? You choose!) with live bacteria. NO added sugar, no "fruit-at-the-bottom". PLAIN! With live bacteria.

Let us know how it goes.

poor sweetie.
i hope you are feeling better already,
whenever things taste too intense for me- i tend to dilute them with water.
your symptoms are requiring alot of water for what you have been losing.
so i agree with everyone else here when they recommend water water water.
fresh air & rest don't sound too bad either. (ie, lounge chair under a shady tree for a nap)
feel better soon!
