I'm new and just starting out, so I do not even know if the pulp can be used after making almond milk. However, I would think so, since it's okay to eat them whole.

Anyway, I just made my dd almond milk for the 1st time and strained it, but am now left with like a cup of almond pulp. It looks like dough to me and I was just wondering if there are any recipes for using this. So wasteful to me, if not!

I am desperate to find my dd a replacement for her cooked crackers (a staple in her diet), so I'm hoping to use this to try. Even for a cookie or chip? She has severe GI problems and cannot tolerate many foods (why we are going raw...for her tummy). I'm intro'ing so many new fruits that I leery about too many other new foods just yet, so here is what she's okay with and if anyone knows of a recipe I'd appreciate it.

Orange (testing), honey, apple, pineapple, dates (testing), cinnamon, garlic, onion, broccoli (her favorite), banana, cinnamon, olive oil (small amt.), cauliflower, green peas (small amt.), oat, rice, and pumpkin (small amt.). We are trialling almonds, but she's had then before in super smalls amounts.

She cannot tolerate any gluten, dairy, soy, corn, potato, or asparagus...so I guess raw is really for her ;)

Her favorite crackers are those thin Japanese rice crackers that are cooked with onion and garlic, so I was wondering how to go about making something similar. Her favorite cookies used to be the Healthy Times Maple cookies, but they have barley in them and she started getting really sick :(

Thanks in advance!

Hey there. The leftover almond pulp can be dehydrated and frozen if you don't use it right way. Then when ready for use in a recipe, grind into a "flour". I use my coffee grinder. Rawkinlocs has a great pecan cinnamon bun recipe floating around here.
It sounds like you are getting your daughter on the right track, that's for sure. Do a search for various recipes. There are a ton of them here.
As far as the thin rice crackers? A pretty good crunchy cracker was a posting that was called (I think) Just like Ritz crackers by a member - mattsonfamily (I think again). I'll see if I can dig both of these up.
How about avocado pudding made with cacao powder and agave and avocado. How old is your daughter? Would she like sweet green smoothies - AKA Shrek Shakes?
I thought of it first a couple years ago and now McBarf's I noticed has come out with Shrek Shakes. The bums. Anyway. Green smoothies are very yummy and so good for one's body.
Good luck with it.
I'll brb w/those threads...

I didn't have hemp seeds at the time and substituted sesame seeds and they turned out wonderful. Don't spread too thin. I made that mistake the first time.

You can do a search on CROUTONS - that is what I like to do with it. ;-)
