the father is raw
my wife is into meat and natural foods
my 2 yr old son is both of us
WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?
JESSE JAMES
so far since i went raw i have caused my wife to want to give sasha our son
dairy, since i used to be controlling and i didn't want to give him dairy
he is starting to get sicknesses (which i know is good)
but i want my family to become raw too
she d on't like that very much
i have relaxed to the point where i can accept what she wants on the outside of me
but inside i wish i went raw much earlier, so sasha could have that chance
i need a better outlook on this
thanks again
jesse james :(

Jesse,
Be the example for your family, allow them to see how good you feel, look, etc. Contact the member here named Todd (username Tglasco) as his family was once against him being all raw and while they were at least vegan, they were not raw and not sure he should be either. But now...things have changed and are constantly changing as his wife is now raw (in HER mind temporarily, but I'll bet she'll end up doing it for life as well! ;) )
You cannot force your wife, but you can lead by example, leave literature around, LOVINGLY share what you learn about what food, dairy, etc. does to the body (take her to http://notmilk.com or find articles that speak to you and print them out and leave them casually lying around).
Feed your son as much raw as you can even though she is feeding him other things. It will be good for him to get as much of the good stuff as he can in his daily intake.
When you prepare raw dishes, ask your wife to have a taste. Fix the YUMMIEST of raw foods such as the "Butter Pecan Ice Cream" or the Onion Bread, etc. as these recipes often win over SAD eaters (both can be found on our recipe section here). She may or may not come around, but you have to do this for yourself and hopefully your wife will follow suit.
Best to you and your family!

thankyouthankyou :)
hey rawloc
i have forgotten you r name already
my question is how do i get to the recipes you refer me to ?
They sound easy to find, but here i cannont find them
i am trying to find a recipe for potatoes, that makes them taste really good
i have tried everything to do that, my next step is to cure them with horseradish and golden beets, i love sauerkraut type stuff, especially really spicey
i really appreciate your advice, and look forward to talking to you on other topics
like why do i have such a craving for dates, i can't stop eating them????
:p
with my family, i managed to get jemma(my wife) to not administer motrin or tylenol, with the sasha having a fever right now, instead we agreed to make "friends with the fever" and i went out today and picked a tree herb that natives used for fevers , feverbush. i am also an botanist/wild edibles.
t anks again

You're welcome Jesse!
I see you found the onion bread recipe...the way to search for topics of interest here is to click on the icon above that has a banana on it along with the word "Search".
Then, type in the word you're looking for and to really narrow it down, to the right on that search page, there is a list of all the forums (Raw Foods Discussion, Raw Recipes, Exercise, etc.) - select which forum you'd like the search to be performed in if you don't want to search the entire board. So, when looking for recipes, select the Raw Recipe forum from that list and then click the button to begin searching.
So, if you type in "ice cream" then you'll probably get other threads, but the one for the butter pecan will come up most likely OR you can just type in "butter pecan".
I haven't had any success with potatoes since going raw. I've tried but nothing worked out so far.
Glad your wife agreed to no longer giving your son medicines...it's a start! :)
