Hi,
As a recovering bulimic and compulsive overeater, I have once again started OA meetings. Upon discovering the raw lifestyle, my eating has improved, but it is still too linked to my "crazy thinking" and that has to be worked on, especially after a crazy control thing I did a couple weeks ago. Anyway, OA people, you know it's not really about the food. Right?
So, here is the deal. I have gotten some input from a raw OAer and currently have an e-mail into her to ask this question....The lady who I asked to help with my steps, etc., is wanting to follow the HOW OA way of thinking which is weigh and measure your food. (She's a compulsive overeater and this has helped her maintain abstinence) I've been resistant to this in the past because to me it seems I will too easily get compulsive with this focusing on calories, weight, etc. Being bulimic at heart, I am always thinking I'm too fat, etc. although I'm "normal" by weight standards.
Anyway, does anyone have a raw eating plan they have submitted to their sponsor for OA? Do you weigh and measure your food? Does it help or hinder you? I don't even weigh myself because it will get me to crazy thinking. So, I just want input from recovering bulimics and this whole weighing/measuring your raw food thing. I can't tell if my fear of weighing and measuring my raw food is a real fear or an imagined one?
Feel free to e-mail me privately at leiloshka@hotmail.com.
THANKS!!!
Leigh
