Hi!
So I've been trying new recipes and having fun getting into a higher-raw summer than last year. But I do have one question: is there any product I can substitute for wheat berries in Alissa's recipes? Short of driving an hour for a "wb" run (to the nearest hfs) I'm not sure what to do??
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!:)

Do you have any grains at home already? If not, you may be making a run to the store anyway. But some things that could be used (depending on the recipe) are: spelt berries, buckwheat groats, barley, rye berries, oat groats (questionable if raw or not - can get truly raw oats from Alissa's store, though)

Thank you so much Rawkinlocs! Yes, I do have some grains on hand but your list is very helpful and will keep an eye out for these staples on my next shopping trip. I think I'll try the oat groats or buckwheat - can't remember what I have enough of for the recipe!:p Have a beautiful afternoon.

You know, if you do make that drive, you could stock up and buy bulk. It's cheap and they, like, last forever!:)

True, true Stina. I actually like driving down to Raleigh or Durham (NC)...it's a pretty drive...but oy! my carbon footprint is looking like Bigfoot this month!:D
