Best juicer for greens:

I have an old Jack LeLanne model, and when I put greens in it spits alot of them out into the pulp contained pretty whole.
So what is a GOOD greens juicer, for a NON-EXPENSIVE price?
And easy clean-up? I see so much info about the champion, but it looks large, and it's not gonna fit into my budget...:'(

So suggestions, please?

They do sell Manual Wheat Grass Juicers that will do the Job. But the best Juicer for Greens is the Green Star and it runs about 500- or so.......Or you can put them in the VitaMix and drink all the Greens.....

The Champion is not for greens. It heats up. The Green Star/Samson/Green Power juicers are the best. If you can't afford a new one, check out eBay, Craigslist, recycle.com, any "throw-away" paper in your neighborhood, etc. for a used on. Someone told me they picked up a brand new, in-the-box Vita-Mix from a thrift store.

Why not just add them to your morning smoothie and take advantage of the fiber?

Because I've been trying that, but it creeps me out :)

It tastes different if I juice all the greens, then add that liquid to my smoothie.

My current juicer heats up too much and leaves a lot of waste. I don't mean to burst in on your post, but I've been looking for a used juicer and dehydrator and was wondering where to find them besides ebay and newspaper. I checked out Craigslist, too. I tried the recycle.com, and it seems more like an engineering website or something. Where do you find things for sale there?

Oh, and I plan on doing a maybe 15 day juice fast, so that definately factors into my decision :-D

I agree. I have a Champion and am very happy with it for all things except grass - it juices grass but obviously wasn't designed for that. And it tends to labor more with stringy stuff like celery & kale. But it does well. I do want to get a manual juicer especially for grasses. I've heard lotsa good things about Greenstar, if you can find one used, or get 0% financing on a new one somewhere. (I get those offers in the mail almost daily :cool:)

yeahhh I'll save some money and research some more. Today I learned the word "Centrifugal" or something like that. I guess the...ore...ones...are...oh never mind I won't even pretend to know these words yet. But I'm learning.
My jack lalanne just makes a mess, doesn't juice berries or greens well, and those 2 things make it painful to use.
